Props for the parents, especially when your wc3 story happened in times when pro-gaming or streaming was not a thing at all. Unique way of rising a child with giving them full control of their life in the European countries at the time. It has pros and cons of course; sometimes lack of guidance may lead to troubles. I'm very happy for you, and I hope - also your parents are. "Whatever makes you happy" is best your parents can tell you, but the support in that has the biggest value - while staying back and watching you make your own decisions and learn from consequences.

There ARE teachers who can make students respect them even if they're little shits, but that's not a skill that can be taught. It requires a lot of experience and intuition to understand how to motivate students (including how to intimidate them). I had a teacher who was completely terrifying to our class for some reason, even though she was actually really lovely. She just knew how to make us afraid to get yelled at. Like she could REALLY shame somebody who'd done something wrong. She was exceptional, definitely deserved double pay, because she kept us from being little shits even when she wasn't in the room. 😅 I remember one time some kid had written that he liked hurting old ladies or something, so she claimed she had called the police because an older woman was attacked down the street from the school. The kid was fucking terrified. We all were 😅

27:00 teachers don't get paid to plan or mark or communicate with parents in the evening, and all that holiday they get is not paid, it's unpaid (e.g. if your annual salary on the job listing says 36k you actually get 30k before tax because of the 2 months holiday throughout the year, and it's just spread over the 12 months). They also tend to work over the shorter holidays just to catch up, and their summer holiday is shorter than the kids. At least in the UK
@dalyxia2 ай бұрын
In the Netherlands, the holidays are paid. There is a calculation, they get paid for 40 hours a week, 40 x 52 weeks = 2080 hours. Divide that by the weeks actually working. For example 7.5 weeks holiday. 2080 \ 45= 46.2 hours per week they work or 9.2 hours per day instead of 8. Edit:i looked it up, with 40h a week primary school teachers get 428 hours holiday or 7,5 weeks

Grubby, i am just starting my degree again after dropping out 2 years ago from BCOM and BA (bachelor of arts and communication) to pursue an Agri and AgriCom (agriculture and agricultural commerce) degree. I too felt like everyone knew what they wanted at school, and what happened to me is i went to study science in high school, then I changed my mind and went full self-indulgence mode to study arts at uni, and now, i'm 22 and going to study farming after wondering what the hell I'm going to do for a few years. I think the best advice anyone who was/is in our shoes deserves is "do not rush it!" Other people will find their dream profession in a few days and for some people, it takes time. The more you try and bend yourself into a shape you don't really want to be, the more you simply damage yourself. It's like anything else in life.

I think you would have huge fun with: 1) Machine gun lich - Corruption, a bit of health and all the damage you can buy, plus all the attack speed buffs you can muster with your army. Demolishes entire waves, 2) Full item DH, Evasion+armor+lots of health and also a corruption orb, a nightmare to deal with. Your university story reminds me of education system in my country - it is basically a case of massively mismanaged expectations. So in Poland, when I was attending, we had a system that had following stages: Pre-school Elementary Secondary High University So... When you were in pre-school, they would tell you that elementary is basically the same thing, just "a bit" longer and "a bit" less playing. And that was a damn lie - it was far longer, with nearly no playing, and swarm of homework. In Elementary, they were telling you it would be completely different. And Secondary was basically the same ordeal, just harder. They would also tell us all sorts of other lies, like - you will have a lot more "practical" applications of what you learn. And what they meant... more god-damn homework. Their idea of "practical" application was doing maths equations from the crappy old book. In Secondary they would tell you that High school would be completely different - and it was basically as redundant as it ever gets. It was basically a repeat of the same shtick, just on harder difficulty. Now in High School they would tell us that University was a completely different stuff. When we probed them about HOW would that be different, they were telling us a bunch of nonsense, fail to elaborate and talk about divide between practical and theoretical part - and we've heard that in Elementary. But at this stage we obviously didn't believe it. And oh damn... The university was a massive shock to everyone involved.

i do agree with you on the issue of 'kid should not be punished' policy around the world. as you said, some kids can be very direspectful on teacher. the scenario went worse while parents act the same way: yell at teacher, being direspect even physical assault after teacher either scolding or punishing thier kid. to be honest, i dislike the idea removing the physical punishment on student in school; not even discipline teacher nor headmaster were allowed. parents just put all the blame to school when something bad happened on kid. i would say, it is either kids get educated properly during school (for such a small society) or the social will educate them in future, in a hard and harsh way
