Very few people know that all songs except Bhangra Dance of film Naya Daur were directed by him.His father Pindi Dass was suprintendent of jails in undivided Punjab.After partition he was posted as Jail Superintendent of Ambala Jail and Nathu Ram Godse was executed under his supervision. His compositions and music in film Pavitra Paapi was par excellent.Song Haryala sawan dhol bajata aaya in film Do Bigha Zamin was picturised on him.He also acted in films Ek Saal and Goonj Uthi Sehnai and a few more.
