Wow, does this song bring back memories. In 1974, I was 16 years old and my very strict Italian father allowed me to go on my first date, but had to be a double date and home by 10pm. We went roller skating and out for ice cream, very different times back then, LOL!! On the way home this song came on, was blasted on the stereo in the car. I thought I was just going to die, was so shy back then. As soon as the car pulled in the driveway, I got out quickly, so see my dad waiting for me in the front door!! 😳

It's almost impossible to go wrong with any Raspberries song, they were all so good. Here are a few suggestions for other songs you may like; "I Wanna Be with You", "Let's Pretend", "Nobody Knows", "Ecstasy", "Tonight", "Should I Wait", and "Overnight Sensation". You may also like some solo songs from Eric Carmen (Lead Singer). Eric has had a very successful career as a singer and song writer. His most famous song is probably "All by Myself" which has been a big hit for several people. Other great Carmen solo songs include "Sunrise", "She Did It", "Hungry Eyes", "Make Me Lose Control", and "I Wanna Hear It from Your Lips".

It's 10.30pm Tuesday night 12/03/2024 and I've just flicked the T.V. over to Ch 9 in Sydney. They were showing The Raspberries "Go all the Way" I thought "Why are they playing that?" "Is Eric touring soon?" Then I thought "Oh no he hasn't died" "Has he?" My fears were confirmed by the news voice over person. "Eric Carmen was 74" Now I can't stop crying. Not only did Eric help create one of the greatest, mind blowing Guitar riffs in Rock history, he then composed some of the most tasteful Ballads of all time. Good quality Ballads are extremely hard to write. Thanks for the great music and the brilliant singing voice Eric. Eric lived a successful existence and died peacefully in his sleep. Oh my goodness you guys, you are not going to believe this! My whole life, and I have heard this song a million times and it is one of my favorites...I thought the lyrics was "Please baby don't go away" not "go all the way"!! I am the one now blushing from ear to ear. I have a theory that when you listen to music when you are a kid and have an innocent mind, you read innocent things into the lyrics. I guess thats why I never listened that closely as an adult. It is such a beautiful song. Thanks for sharing it, I enjoyed your reactions! :)

God all mighty!!!!, I just love you 2 and your appreciation for all these old hits! I am 60 and lived thru some epic times, and as the youngest child of 8, we were poor, and didn't have a TV till i turned 4, but we did have a radio!!!!! Yay! But there is so many cool and different songs from the 60's & 70's, and everyone of them take me back to that time in my life. I will cherish all those memories, and continue to listen to the music from back then, because each of them can set or change my mood in a minute. Eric Carmen is one of CLEVELAND, OHIO's native sons. He grew up in the Cleveland eastern suburb of LYNDHURST, OHIO and I grew up in the suburb right next to Lyndhurst, MAYFIELD HEIGHTS, OHIO. Eric is 2 years younger than I am so we were in high school at the same time, but since Eric's school BRUSH HIGH was so near to MY school MAYFIELD HIGH, our schools WERE RIVALS in all sports in the 1960's. The RASPBERRIES were a CLEVELAND band that had former members of another Cleveland band "THE CHOIR" who had a national hit in 1967 called "IT'S COLD OUTSIDE" (it's on You Tube). Eric lived in Los Angeles for awhile, but returned to our area living in GATES MILLS, OHIO which is on the other side of Mayfield Heights, where I live. He STILL lives in Gates Mills. IF he had lived in Gates Mills when he was in high school, he would have been a student at my school MAYFIELD HIGH instead of our rival BRUSH HIGH! WE LOVE ERIC CARMEN here in Cleveland! (plus he's GORGEOUS! I miss guys having long hair, too many bald, shaved heads these days)
