Car accidents shouldn’t happen, cause cars should be automated, and there should be as few of them as possible, transportation should be on foot, bikes, public transit, and only “green” planes and ships overseas, where trains can’t go.

You're awesome, Pudgey! Wishing you continued healing both mentally and physically 🙏 Just a quick note about mercury poisoning. Not only does she have regular PTSD from going through something traumatic, but the mercury enhanced it. To summarize, it can cause 1) depression 2) paralysis 3) hallucinations 4) organ damage (which Katara stated she has). She was indeed paralyzed from the mercury not just from the fear. This represents how both physical and mental blocks can go hand in hand especially for someone like Korra that relies so much on her physicality. The longer it took for her body to physically heal, the worse her mindset got. A more simplistic way of looking at it is like if Korra were a pro athlete that had a severe injury and took a long time to recover. They not only struggle physically but will have that hesitation due to fear of getting injured again and failing their teammates and themselves. They can seem out of practice or out of sync and it takes time to get back that old mojo if it happens at all.

I believed the way LoK handled Korra’s storyline and trauma was really well done, but I don’t have a shared experience that’s as similar to her as what you have just shared Pudgey. Thank you for sharing this information, I could see you were feeling strongly during this episode, and I’m relieved to hear that the LoK creators did not fail to reflect this experience appropriately.

Thank you for sharing about some of the trauma you've endured, Pudgey. I love how much empathy you both have for Korra. Some reactors don't really get how strong of an effect trauma and PTSD can have on someone, and how long lasting its effects can be. I think Korra's journey this season is a more accurate portrayal to how that looks and feels, compared to what is often seen in this kind of media.

It’s kind of interesting how most avatars are told they are the avatar when they are 16, so hopefully they have “found themselves” to a degree and can handle the pressure, then they travel the world to learn bending. Korra discovered for herself that she was the avatar and learned the bending (mostly) so easily and now she is traveling the world to find herself. It’s a role reversal that Avatar loves to do, and it always works so well

I’m with Pudgey on this. Although Kuvira doesn’t get do be a villain in the same magnitude and imponence as Zaheer, Book 4 is my favorite. And the reason for that is exactly how human everyone is portrayed. Korra’s journey get to a point where you not only see, but also feel how much she has grown. And I hope Pudgey continues to get better, you are such a sweet person, you deserve all the best, and also really nice of Spartan on being on your side through that. When book 4 came out, a lot of people started hating on Korra for being so weak, but at that time I was facing a burnout and must say, this storyline really got to me. Not only that, it helped me to heal. So I hope it also has the same effect on you :) All the best!

You guys nailed it with PTSD. I find it fascinating since they designed this age to be like how it was during the industrial revolution and world war 1 like, which is when we got the famous name Shellshock to describe PTSD for soldiers. When soldiers came back they were broken and could not really return to society. PTSD was and still is for life for some. This series really handles PTSD well for me. I suffer from my own personal PTSD from past experiences. And also yay for TOPH!!! Besides Sokka she was the only one of the old Aang gang we didn't meet yet. All the hugs Pudgey!! You are beautiful and brave, greatest respect. This episode and the rest of the season are going to be great! You are right it is so good for what prteviously happened, not just season 3 though. Korra's entire journey has shaped her experience up to now.

Rewatching the video after knowing the struggles Pudgy has gone through hits even harder. Seeing how she reacts to certain lines Korra says during her rehab. About not being able to feed or dress herself, or able to do much of anything. And being so tired. Tired of hurting. Pudgy's experience helps elevate these scenes in a way no other review has.

I think the biggest difference and what made the battle with Zaheer so harsh is that Korra was literally seconds away to be unalived. With Amon she lost her bending (sense of self) and with Unalaq/Vaatu she lost her connection to the avatar spirit (sense of purpose), but she still "got through it". And those were pretty bad too, but Zaheer literally was so close to end her life and not only that; all the physical repercussions (like not being able to walk). If you add up the fact that she saw how everyone's lives were moving on and she wasn't... It's really a lot to take in and get through. That's why I have so much more respect for Korra after her journey through book4. Also, thanks Pudgey for sharing your story with us 🧡 you're such a brave woman. Sending you tons of love and light ❤️‍🩹

Oh Pudgey! I totally feel you and wish I could give you a big hug (: I got a really bad double concussion 3 years ago and completely relate to this episode of Korra + Pudgey's story too. Feeling betrayed by your body, needing to relearn how to do the most basic things (for me I needed to relearn how to talk, get my eyes accustomed to any kind of light, how to move my eyes back and forth, people's names, etc.), feeling like everyone is moving on while you're stuck, etc. etc. I'm still recovering and some days are harder than others. PTSD is so easily dismissed and misunderstood, but I hear you Pudgey and believe in you! (: I love how much you empathize with Korra and how you knew (even before seeing this episode) what was happening to her because you picked up on the little clues in the previous episodes. You can see when others are hurting and that's a pretty strong superpower (:

Keep in mind, Korra is still recovering physically. She may be on her feet and can take care of herself, but that doesn’t mean she has the full strength and coordination that she had before. And if you take another look, she has less muscle than she had before Zaheer ran her into rock bottom.

And classic pitfalls of physical therapy - patients' frustration at lack of fast progress and feelings of inadequacy, as well as trying to rush back into normal physical activity too quickly after crossing the first hurdles which leads to easy re-injury (one step forward, two steps back). Considering her nature even back in season 1, wanting to be in the thick of things from go and taking on baddies head on and being a physical specimen and prodigy, the process had to have been amped up significantly for someone like Korra. And not even mentioning the mental and emotional hurdles at this point that she struggles to reconcile with to the point of basically trying to run forward as if, by not looking at them, they just won't be there, yet continue to stumble and trip over them. She's headstrong and prideful, paradoxically having both a grand sense of self-worth yet having an incredibly shallow sense of self-worth at the same time - believing that, as the Avatar, she is and should be the best and greatest force for good and should and can do it all, but simultaneously feeling absolutely worthless if she can't do anything she believes to be Avatar-related to the point of being angry and defensive and rash or depressed and lost.

I also think it's important to mention that, of all the elements, Korra currently struggles the most to defend herself against Earth. She feels uprooted, that she isn't grounded in who she is and who she is supposed to be anymore.

I’ve never dealt with any sort of debilitating disease or injury, but I recognize how well this episode portrays it. Since we are used to main characters bouncing back from crazy situations all the time, it can seem a bit contrived that Korra is so affected by what Zaheer did to her, but I think it is completely appropriate. She was poisoned, forced to put not only herself in jeopardy but the entire Avatar cycle; then nearly suffocated, completely helpless in the state that she should be the most powerful. This all happens while she thinks her dad was just killed trying to protect her, by the way. I don’t care what anyone says, this show and the character of Korra are both amazing.

Spartan really is the most stereotypical version of a man, isn't he? Absolutely emotionally unaware and constantly criticizing women in the show about not being conventionally attractive. (freaking out over Jenora shaving her head and not wanting to see her with shaved head even though that was literally a HUGE step for her character, saying he liked Korra's long hair more even though again her cutting it symbolized importance) I'm shocked someone as sensitive as Pudgey can be with him.
