Wolfram Physics shows that reality may be 1 simple rule that gets applied over and over. So in one line of code, they can generate a growing structure that reproduces the known laws of physics. But it can't be run, ultimately, even if we had the final rule (or small sets of rules) due to it being all of reality, including the multiverse.

They say it may be impossible to simulate the universe 1 to 1, as it would require a computer the size of the universe to run. Basically the best way to simulate the universe is the universe its self. But at that point its not really a simulation, just a copy

@@rikyriky966 one interesting example is the case of airbursts in the atmosphere are often associated with magnetic events. It would be interesting test different scenarios of paramagnetic fluid and magnetic objects in a fluid that move rapidly enough to perhaps create these events in a changing magnetic field or a reconnect event. Cavitating waves can generate a lot of heat and thus lead to expanding air or fluid around them.

wow that's a good number of papers down the line. But the experiment you're describing doesn't seem that hard to do in a lab. Messing with magnets in a water tank with a phantom camera for science would actually even appeal to quite a number of science youtubers so depending on your communication skills (and a bit of luck or tenacity but researchers need both anyway eh?) you could even have it for free and exposure for your project ;)

@@CrystalStearOfTheCas oh for sure! I'm an amateur experimenter with a money phobia so I run out of budget pretty fast for my interests in physical testing! I've done small scale experiments with neodymium magnets being dropped in glass cups of water that are pretty interesting. I never posted that footage but in hindsight I'm thinking I should have! Simulating scenarios to me represents a potential planning step in preparation for a physical experiment. Especially as I seek a lean financial approach.

Okay, I love your videos, but I gotta say. The reason we usually need to draw magnetic field lines is because the field is not pointing in a single direction with a constant size. The only reason they could portray it with a compass needle here was because they simulated that. for more complex magnetic fields a compass needle would be useless. Off course you should always pick the simplest way of portraying the data, but I don't think your complaints about field lines where fair (You should have mentioned that a compass needle usually will not work)

@@jearlblah5169 that is an excellent question! If a fluid of uncountable micro particles of magnetite suspended in something like kerosene (thank you nile red) can be simulated that close, i would like to imagine we could simulate setups that would be incredibly difficult or expensive to test in real life with enough accuracy to get at least a ballpark of what we might expect the results to be. Magnetic provision is always distanced to put your hands on. It was the same case for aerodynamic simulations years ago. Large costly tunnels had to be built. Lately I was working on a possible industrial product concept working on magnets. I needed a rigid digital simulator but couldnt find any suiting my requirement. Commercialisation of this method will be revolutionary even the fashion industry is looking for some magnetic methods to solve some problems they have.

Excellent video. However, I'm slightly bothered by the appearance of a void in the two-way example. This would either imply the usage of a third medium or, what seems more reasonable, a complete "vacuum" which in turn would dramatically increase suction and substantially slow the magnet down - an effect not seen in the simulation. /a inspired viewer

If anyone's looking for ideas, it would be great to be able to do this with acoustic simulation, in particular simulating the acoustic response and pattern of a closed space made of various materials coupled together with various interfaces. It's kind of a solved problem with FEA, but insanely inefficient, thus not used, and acoustics in general is that complex that I feel AI would do a much better job of it. There is also a growing, potentially large future market for this, if anyone has the vision to see it.
