lol he has a number one selling album! There are bands that have one hit wonders in the 1980s that literally still living off of it! He’s rich rich! He has earned every nickel as far as I’m concerned and he’s even said that one of the nicest things is he can now afford to go to any dr at any time and not ever worry about the bill again. And he’s going to be much richer! But think about the top one or 2% of any industry and they are filthy rich well he has achieved that in the music industry, which is one of the wealthiest industries of them all and he’s independent which means he don’t share the majority of his money with his record label!
@Wiley_CoyoteАй бұрын
Until recently he certainly wasn't rich. If for no other reason than ridiculously large medical expenses that were outside the UK and not covered by NHS. But he's making all of the money and not having to split streaming and KZbin revenues. He's got to be well off, if not independently wealthy by now. But he also finances his own production. So he's spending too.

This was a stellar performance at one of my favourite London music venues, The Roundhouse, Camden Town. I thought it was also great that The Darkness performed at the same awards ceremony, since Justin Hawkins famously tagging it on You Tube with "F***in’ Hell, This Is Mind-Blowing". Then following up with an interview. I saw in a BTS video from the event, they got to meet up.

Busking is a hand to mouth existence….it was years of that. Any money has been very recent..in the he still has medical expenses. He said he is now self sufficient which was a relief to hear.
@debbee0867Ай бұрын
People also need to realise when Ren is in the UK, any medical treatment he needs, he isn't out of pocket for as it comes directly out of our taxes, no additional costs. Money is only an issue for treatment he has received abroad. Even our prescription costs are a fraction of what they are in the US, and I'm sure Ren is on a similar Prescription Prepayment Certificate plan to me, which is only around £10 a month, this includes all medications. If he isn't, he should be entitled to have it with his medical condition.
@kellyt5341Ай бұрын
@@debbee0867 Ya well he is going back to Canada and the holistic private medical clinic will be all out of Ren's pocket. One, it is a place the government wouldn't give a red cent because it's natural medicine and private, number two, Ren is not a citizen of Canada only a medical visitor.

The bag and rope represents a money bag that people would put money in back in the old days. in the rope represents the top that you tie the money back with. If you look back at the old movies when they would rob a bank, you’ll see them coming out with a tied up money bags. A lot of people though see it as somebody was about to be home with the bag over his head. But it's just a tied up money bag.

That is right. Inevitable that Ren's message is misconstrued. Americans want to point blame at government instead of at themselves - all thirsting to take more out of the cookie jar than they actually need. Nowadays, billionaires are the heroes in America.
@onjupiterАй бұрын
Kinda but that's a part of how the system functions they do have enough money to fix potholes but the government keeps putting money in stuff like the military/police or just using it for themselves instead of something that will actually help the people.
@chumchumanonymous6978Ай бұрын
@@onjupiter The government is supposed to be - and is still somewhat in the US - accountable to voters for making poor spending choices. But that is not the case when billionaires and corporations buy politicians' votes and flood SM and other sources with propaganda. We really need campaign finance reform in the USA.

And as soon as his music was making enough he closed down the gofundme for his medical care even though he was just going viral and people were still wanting to do contribute. He asked folk to biy his music and merch instead of they wanted to support him. So he wanted to earn the money and give people something in return, not just let people donate. He could have left it open, nobody would have blamed him. But he had enough to pay his bills and have some security so he drew a line there. He didn't take more than he needed from the cookie jar. ❤

@MissMeKate He did the same thing when people were offering to set something up to help with legal bills in the whole Sick Boi debacle, and he firmly but kindly said, to please not do that. He had it covered, and he didn't want anyone sending money to him over this. Class act, IMO.

This is a great performance, but then he has a lot of experience busking so that must be a considerable part of his skill set. I don’t think Ren is rich but he’s reached a point where he can afford his treatments (which includes travel expenses) AND has the freedom to focus on his music. From different interviews, he’s not against money, he’s not necessarily anti-capitalistic. He’s against greed. He’s against making money its own end. He’s against putting money over human beings.

❤Rens issue with greed/money/capitalism isn't about the business directly. His issue is he doesn't think money should determine if a person lives or dies, I believe (based on interviews, his music, him speaking about it on twitch) I believe he feels that he was left to suffer and allowed to spend 10 yrs at death's door because of money and greed. He doesn't think there should be homeless and hungry people because of greed and money. Just my opinion, never met the man. 😂😂
@xx1CRUАй бұрын
I just typed out a long ass comment about how capitalism is great, but because of human greed it can never run as intended. But I deleted it cuz it was too long😂 You summed it up pretty well here. People get the wrong idea when they hear certain buzz words or critiques on concepts they have been taught to believe in, like capitalism. It is the flaws inherent in humans that are usually the downfall of concepts that would otherwise usually be a good thing. Ren does a great job of breaking things like that down so the are digestible for the listener. This was an incredible and brave performance. And here I go again with another comment that is way too long, why do I always do that😂.. 🫡✌️❤️

FWIW, Ren isn't actually anti-capitalist... he's anti-greed and pro-community. He wants people to think more about the big picture and long term repercussions. And he wants us to work together to make decisions for the betterment of humanity first and profit... probably not even second, but it can be in the conversation. He says there's plenty good about capitalism, but there's a lot to rethink, we just have to be more open to ideas and less triggered by the language used in communicating those ideas.
