Okey, gotta be honest. This playthrough made me download (and accidentally get addicted to StS), and I am surprised. Before playing it I was under the impression that NL plays suboptimally, possibly because of all the Type A chatters. But now, I get somewhat a very different appreciation for how the Egg is handling the game. This stuff is hard and he manages to find and fit very interesting build most of the time

A lot of people are genuinely much better than him at the game, but the vast majority of them got there by watching hours of really really good players and learning from them. Egg is self taught and I love that for him.

He's not terrible strategy-wise but he makes lots of objective misplays in fights that he wouldn't if he stopped to think for 2 seconds. Like at one point he plays full mana whirlwind for the same damage he could have played bite and whirlwind for. Few minutes later he's fighting the transient says his plan is to heal up as much as possible and last turn he overkills it with whirlwind when he could have played the two bites in hand. Those little things add up and can kill a run esprcially on higher ascensions.

I think with this particular Neow Bonus you can afford to take the Bomb: it ends the Sentries fight after 1 1/2 deck rotations at latest, hits Lagavulin for 40 pretty much for free and is even good against Gremlin Nob if drawn on turn one (albeit terrible on any later turn). Nob is the one elite fight where a good act 1 deck would be better off not having it I'd say, it beats Magnetism and Sadistic Nature quite handily.
