Amazing beautiful Ky Ky. He is a gorgeous boy. He was upset and jealous when Rachel carried another child. He looked and was disturbed and wanted Rachel not to do that. What a beautiful boy. When he grows up, he will pay more attention to listening to Rachel although he loves both parents. It is a crying shame how they grow up to be boys from toddler so fast. Nice video. That man offering free coffee is a good cultured man and he did well to show his likeness and he too recognize your videos. Great Malaysian culture. Enjoy the rest of your trip. By far, this trip to Malaysia was fulfilling. Make the best still while hanging around. Cheers!

Hi guys. I'm from Singapore and when my family were living in Evanston, Illinois in 2015, we had many new friends (Americans) coming over our place and we made satay frm scratch and they love it. Another dish that became popular for our house party was actually nasi lemak, everything frm scratch as well (marinated chicken, sambal). I feel very relatable to you family cos I lived similar experiences in terms of culture and our South East Asian food are mostly the same (char kuey teow, satay, oyster Omelette, wanton noodles).

Hello there, The food Adventures in Malaysia never end. There is also a Hameedia at Ampang Point, but the Murtabaks are not round and so good as in Penang. Not to offend but by way of observation only, the original Kumaar family unit of just the family and grandparents at times seems to have expanded to friends in virtually every local video. The original family unit on its own is kind of missed, it does change the close knit family approach. Have fun guys

lobak or the right way to say it is "Loh Bak" is basically 5-spices pork rolles it should be juicy as it is fresh made and deep fried ... some place have chicken loh bak but one of the best all time loh bak is at the tan jetty area is specialize for loh bak only. For satay or could called it " sah tey " in hokkien means 3 pieces so 3 pieces of meat . For satay in penang normally is 3 pieces of meat with the middle basically fat. Next time if u plan to come to penang please do inform me i could really show u around as im local and i always prefer bring people to best place for locals not for some tourist sites because sometimes tourist side is nice to go but the tastes is kinda off sometimes prefer bring people to true local place which is real yummy to the base of the stomach.

Hi Logesh and Rachel. I am happy that you have enjoyed Penang. Lorbak is actually one of the Peranakan dish/cuisine. It is meat (either minced pork or pork loin marinated with 5-spice powder, salt and pepper) wrapped in bean-curd sheets and deep fried to golden brown and dip in the sauce of either chilly or the brown gooey sauce (made from seasoning, a bit of 5-spice mixture gravy and beaten egg added to it). Char kueh Kak is made from radish and flour (like steamed yam cake) then stir-fried to perfection. If comparing between KL & Penang - food name may be the same but the taste is somehow a bit different. Take nasi kandar for instance. Penang nasi kandar has got more ooooomph (Hahaha)...

So happy to see you guys having a blast in Penang! You got to appreciate the diversity of Malaysia, especially Penang, when you have the dishes have multi-cultural palette; the usual Chinese food are sweeter than the rest of the Central and southern states (like the Malays love sweeter palette); while the Nasi Kandar spices are different from the Mamak with Bangladesh cooks. It is just unique as it self. I wonder is it still trendy to have even the dried based noodles laced with prawn paste; like only Penang has chee cheong fun with prawn paste 😆 (you don't easily find it elsewhere)

I grew up eating at my favourite wanton noodles shop in Klang from the time my parents were dating until they married and had the three of us, and the family run business was passed down to their son after both parents had retired, so much so I couldn't find any other stall which offers the same taste until when I was based in Penang many years ago to oversee the launch of our flagship store at Gurney Paragon, which was dubbed as the Pavilion of Penang during its grand opening, but eventually never really lived up to its billing; and one of my first nights there after closing shop my staffs took me to try the one you had at Lebuh Chulia, and it was love at first bite! Not surprisingly, I would have it almost every night! As for the famed char kuey teow, ever since I had my first plate of the old uncle's at Siam Road during my first visit to Penang when I was still a lad, I honestly couldn't bring myself to have it outside of Penang. So, when I was there for about a month, it became my personal mission to try as many variations of CKT: from Tiger (which came at a close second), to the one at Cecil Street Market, to BM Duck Egg CKT, to the one at New Cathay Kopitiam, to Ah Leng, to Sister's, to the one at Song River, to Left-Handed CKT, to Ah Soon, to the one at Kimberly Street, to Goggles Aunty at Jelutong Night Market, to even Red Hat Aunty at Lorong Selamat which cost RM 11 (due to the fact that it's a popular haunt for tourists, especially Singaporeans)! And I only listed down the notable ones. At the end of my search for the best CKT, only to affirm my favourite is still my first love. Hailed by the BBC as the “Humble King of Noodles” and described as the oldest char kuey teow legend in Malaysia, Uncle Tan Chooi Hong never fails to work his magic with every plate. His is still worth my abstaining from defiling my taste buds with any mere imitations anywhere outside of The Pearl of the Orient until I make my next food pilgrimage to the Holy Mecca of street food. On a side note, I'm at least happy and comforted during my absence here in Klang by Angcle Peoh (my favourite Asam Laksa originally from the Air Itam market), who first set up shop near my place at BBT2!
@kirandass77222 жыл бұрын
Nononono.... Penang Char Koay Kak is is not carrot cake aka char tau koay! I made that mistake previously when I saw what I thought was the same thing, but they are not. It still uses rice noodles similar to koay teow but in the form of square rice cakes and way better than the other version

I did not eat wanton me for a long time, I cannot find (a yakin halal) here. And no one do Chinese style cuisine here at my place. And I agree with you, a good sate must have fat (or chicken skin if it is chicken sate) in between of meat skewer. It bring the flavor, sweetness, and juicy bits of sate. I hate when the sate did not have that fat because of "I want to do a healthy meal". My emotion need to be healthy too bro, from fat happiness.
