I've experienced alkaline water benefits in my life and i could say that they are totally real. I had the same problem as too many people. Lack of energy in my body. I used an alkaline water filter in my refrigerator since 2018 and i recommend it at all !! Nowadays i feel with a lot of energy i'm discovering new benefits! I ran for 35 years, 6 days a week. I averaged about 5 miles a day and was never injured, at least not to the point of missing a run. My rule-of-thumb was that if I have an injuring and have to limp, then I am not running. So none of my injuries, the various strains and pulls, ever caused me to limp. I also played basketball. I finally quit when my Achilles tendon was chronically inflamed and I was advised to quit running.

Had a running streak that started when I was 15. It lasted 4 and a half years until I went over on my ankle at the end of a run and ended up with a cast on my leg. I tried to run with the cast but made it 10 feet and the pain was unbearable. I knew then it was over and like Jon said in this video about others who ended their streak, I felt relieved that it was over. However, now in my 50's I have run every day for the past 4 months, so who knows how long this one will go. Planning to compete in masters track and field and have my eye on a record. Will take a few years to get good but I enjoy the process.

My longest streak was 3 years, 155 days. It ended when I had been sick but was pushing through it. Each run was slower. Then I had a few beers one night and here comes this young kid college runner with far less experience than me, but was beating all my pr's. I asked him what he thought I could do to be as fast as him. He said "Are you serious? Cuz I'll tell you if you are". I said "tell me"! He raised his voice and said "Stop your stupid streak and take two weeks off, then ease back into it" Those two weeks felt so good I extended it to 5 weeks! This was January. By April 30 I had PR'd at 1,500, 5,000 and 10,000. There are different goals in running. A lifetime streak is fine, IF THAT'S YOUR GOAL (to have a streak). My goal was to improve my times. But I had laziness issues. One day off easily led to a week off. I began the streak to stop the laziness. By the end of the streak that had long since been solved. I had plenty of discipline and no common sense. My new goal was to never again get caught up in streaks. I deliberately would break any developing streak. There are times when the body needs rest, or at least those specific muscle groups need rest. That's just me perhaps.

Im 40 and sprint 2 to 3 times a week. I call it a total energy dump. I perfer to sprint then run as sprinting spikes Testosterone levels and renews mitochondria. However the key is to do some form of running or high intensity activity at least once a week. The more you do it the better the results. I don't drink or smoke anything, I abstain completely so my drug of choice is the feel good endorphins I get from high physicsl exertion.

Try to do a combination of sprint one or two days and long distance another one or two days, and you will see the benefits. I think is just better than doing either just sprints or long runs. You work different things in your body.

@@monkeymenso Ive thought about this many times. I was actually going to take up skipping as I heal from the sprinting. Even though I don't feel sore after sprinting anymore I know my hammys, knees and ankles are definitely worn which is why I dont sprint everyday. I was thinking that skipping uses zero hamstrings so they could rest and heal before I exert again. However I will definitely try this next week. Sprint maybe Twice a week and run 3 and rest 2 (perhaps skip on my offdays. I will play around with it but thanks for the suggestion.
