not many people will understand the gravity of what Tyler has accomplished in league. Especially because his success in league utilizes a very macro-oriented, pattern recognizing playstyle. He's made for chess. When Tyler looks at a frame of league he intuitively understands where each player is, where the value is, what everyone's win condition is and makes the right move accordingly. He did this for all 5 roles of the game. He didn't succeed because he's just mechanically gifted on a strong champion and downing Adderalls. He wins with the same tools that you win with chess. He's also an addict.

This buff goblin man is one of the last people I woulda expected to skyrocket at chess, but then again, his tenacity in League has been quite remarkable so I can see how it would translate to another game. Neat. Can't wait for the new era of Tylerian chess

dude I know Tyler's persona is really hilarious and eccentric but he's truthfully an insanely smart and dedicated person. I would not be surprised if he was top percentile at anything he chose to spend time and energy on, it's just in his nature and he understands how to get good at skills. At first he might be dicking around and just getting a feel for stuff but once he sits down and tries, it's actually over.

Tyler is not a bodybuilder at all. He is a powerlifter. In Bodybuilding he would get smoked. In powerlifting he is putting up numbers. He is insanely strong in the gym.

this actually inspired me to start playing again, i played chess for around 2 weeks, the first week i was stuck at 400, then i started watching videos on chess and doing puzzles, and reached 1000 in that week before i stopped playing because I thought i reached a good level, but im actually going to start playing now again because I believe I can get better

Gotham, you and Tyler are such an inspiration! I started playing five weeks ago. I'm 700 rapid and 1800 in puzzles now, but I played like 4 times less games and puzzles than Tyler. I wish I had as much time for playing as he has. It must be a crazy ELO ride.

Although, playing a lot isn't the solution to everything. Trial and error analysing is crucial. Not playing too much, but slowly and seriously is invaluable for making progress. (I am only a measly 1500 chess com in rapid, and it took me 2 years of effort)

@@EdooX888 Well, all I wanted to convey was : everybody's personnal situation and motivation being different ( youngster ? adult with kids ? ), getting into grinding a lot of games whithout taking the time to analyse them is a common trap one shouldn't fall into. I guess I was being captain obvious here, maybe. I wish us all a great chess journey. Cheers

@@hemutitu1870 Because if his opponent eventually plays a bad move and he capitalizes on it, it doesn't really matter. Such small gaps in opening advantage are only apparent in +2000 chess where people play at accuracies above 90 consistently.

Honestly yeah, I really like the demystifying of chess lately and adored watching Charlie (Critikal)’s training with Danya. It’s what got me into chess (though I’m still only playing 400 elo lol) Tyler1 being so goofy and entering this scene might be even better for showing people that chess isn’t just for genius turbo nerds from obscure post soviet countries or the upper classes of England and France
