There’s a couple reasons for the “yeah” “uh huh” “ok” before a rapper starts, mostly it’s waiting for percussion to hit in the beat. Also it becomes a type of signature, especially when multiple rappers are on one song, you hear “look” “listen” in the background you get chills knowing Eminem is coming in next. Also you can think of it like taking a few warm up swings in golf, or in the batters box, or even swaying your body before jumping rope :)

And I’m pretty sure hmack pre-set some bars when he want to during this time, but mostly yeah it’s for waiting the beat and be in sync with it

That part is usually used as an intro/warmup to make some jokes or get into the beat. for harry im sure he dosen't really need the warmup but its a part of the hip hop culture and hes big on keeping that and also giving probs to the greats of that birth era with doing it like they did.

It also eases you into their vocals. If they just start singing out of the blue, it can be a little jarring.

Hey brother new fan, new subscriber and longtime part of the (Martian) Harry family. Just one of Harry's amazing qualities that captured me was how genuine and friendly he is, and just seems like somebody you want to hang with. And just FYI you are equally as likable :-) yes 18 is a great one, number one is pretty awesome and it's also great to see his progression from when he began. Another thing if you pause if you wouldn't mind hitting the back arrow to rewind five or 10 seconds so we can get back in the flow with you :-) we all love Harry so much that we constantly search for first reaction videos so that we can Re Live the first time over and over again! Keep up the great work much love from Houston.

I like the fact that you are not a fan of rap music... Start at episode 2 and work your way through all of them. Harry's progression is absolutely amazing. You have started with probably my two favorite episodes but every one of them are amazing... then you have his guerrilla bars which are just different.

Mate, good to see you've done 45 & 52. The 2 classics, happy to hear you'll do 18 eventually. 42 & 43 are great & the colab with Marcus V on 32 is always amazing.

I love your reactions to HMack, especially when you are coming in on this with little knowledge about the rap industry. You have a genuine reaction with the appreciation of amazing lyrical talent. If you keep watching and listening through his list of Omegle bars, you will definitely pick up more knowledge about the rap industry, such as why he references and compares himself to other rappers in his freestyle and flows, schemes, and delivery/cadences... What he does off the top of his head is absolutely phenomenal as others struggle writing these. You may even learn some new words as I have every time I listen to his free's, it's like I've cheated on an English exam/test. He makes words easy to understand 😆Keep going through his list of music, it really doesn't matter what number you react to as they are all so great, but the ones you have reacted to already have set you up to give you an idea of how extremely talented the goat he is.

Said process is often times called "catching the beat". And it's pretty much all of what you said, but unique to every rapper.

H Mack is definitely the freestyle GOAT! Great reaction, man! Looking forward to more~
@baldbearded96013 жыл бұрын
He does the "Uh, yeah" ad libs while he waits for the beat but also to let the listener know what the "rhythm" of the freestyle will be. For people who are not naturally musically inclined, when the bass drops it becomes more obvious to follow the time signature but by doing the ad libs first, it helps catch the rhythm until the full beat drops! 👍

Great reaction 🤣 Subbed and looking forward to seeing more. Earliest vid I have seen is 'crazy shit' from 2010... he was already talented then but to see the growth over the last 2-3 years is amazing Enjoy the ride!

For me that has been listening to hip hop for over 40 years the uuuuhhmm, yeah and sounds like that for me in the beginning is gathering your thoughts and feeling a beat in your head and when listening to somebody else rap like Harry Mack those sounds come out automatically when he hits a bar, when there is sick dirty beat, it's just like doing "the stink face" :)

Welcome to the fam my man. loving the vids! To answer your question about "rapper hand movement" Harry Mack does happen to have a Jazz drummer past and also clearly insanely passionate. Movement = Rhythym= Rhythym =Movement. This dude is just undeniably pushing the boundaries for truly mastering a craft in the modern era and he is exactly the type of person we hear legends of and aspire to be as children. difference is... its 2021 and we can just watch him be a god live worldwide..... Spread knowledge and love yall!!!!

Hey, I know this was posted like a year ago, but it seems you haven't posted anything in a while. I enjoyed your HMack reactions. Would like to see you react to more, especially Omegle Bars 18. Hope everything's OK✌️

Only 1:20 in and LOVE that you care about getting a feel of everything. Also, if someone has probably already said it, but the random words beginning, hip-hop tracks many times is to establish the beat in their head. I wish I had a better way to explain it. OK, maybe this is it: I play acoustic guitar and sing solo. And sometimes I will stump my foot to get the beat going so that I have a solid foundation. Hip-hop vocals are like percussion without melody (usually without Melody anyway). So a lot of times it’s just kind of setting themselves up for coming in and getting into the beat before they actually have to perform.

@@BGNewsReporter theres a reason to skip those ads.. i HATE you people telling others to not skip them. its a paid promotion, which they werent paid to promote. end of story. and if you freely advertise for companies they arent gonna pay what they should for theyre exposure. its dumb all around stop saying that shit, if people dont skip them thats fine, but never tell them they shouldnt...

I think the “um yea ok” are both waiting for the best to drop so it’s all on beat and also coming up with where to start the verse. I’ve heard in one his videos Harry say he doesn’t think too far ahead with bars. So he just rides the moments.
