I found this 74-year-old man who comes to Haridwar ganga ghat everyday with his stacks of mats and a set of mic and speaker. He call himself ganga swachh krantikari.
He gives mats free of cost to people for sitting as an alternative to the plastic mats sold there.
He keeps announcing the ill affects of plastic and why we need to save ganga and frequents keeps cleaning the ghat of the plastics that people use and leave there.

Haridwar, a sacred city in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand, is renowned for its ghats along the Ganges River.
1.Har Ki Pauri: Perhaps the most famous ghat in Haridwar, Har Ki Pauri is believed to be the spot where Lord Vishnu left his footprint. It's considered the holiest place in Haridwar and is thronged by devotees and tourists alike, especially during the evening Ganga Aarti (a ritual of worship involving fire) which is a mesmerizing sight to behold.
2.Gau Ghat: As the name suggests, this ghat is dedicated to cows (Gau) and is used for bathing and performing rituals.
3.Ganesh Ghat: This ghat is named after Lord Ganesh and is used for bathing and performing rituals.
4.Sapt Sarovar Ghat: Sapt Sarovar Ghat is believed to be the place where seven sages (Sapt Rishis) meditated. It's a significant spot for religious rituals and ceremonies.
5.Ganga Mandir Ghat: This ghat is associated with the Ganga Temple nearby and is a popular spot for devotees to take a holy dip in the Ganges.
Vishnu Ghat: As the name suggests, this ghat is associated with Lord Vishnu and is used for bathing and performing rituals.Haridwar Ganga
