Hey, I just want to say Jesus loves you and it's so much more than you can ever imagine. He loves you so much with everything and wants a relationship with you. We go through a lot and sometimes it feels like we are alone in that moment,in the pain or sorrow but we aren't alone. Jesus died and reconciled us all with God through his death, the death of one who knew no sin yet died for all sins. He took the punishment we deserved. Jesus loves you and wants you in heaven so much. Life is better with God. I was living in my sin and calling it light. I thought it was the best thing ever but it wasn't..the things I thought could take the pain away couldn't. You guys, God heals, God loves , God saves... there's this addiction I thought I could never get out of but when I look back at my life it's just amazing, I find the things I did very disgusting...I look at my life and think "who would have thought" and I'm just even more grateful to God. I was lucky enough to have a chicken come into my life. She was disabled. She taught me that chickens make the best pets (I should put that in capitals because it so very true). She was only with us a short time, but her imprint is still felt. I never knew that chickens could be so affectionate, purr, cuddle and be sassy. They are truly amazing.

Aren't they?! I used to take my morning coffee outside and, from our first batch of chicks, I had a rooster who loved to snuggle on my lap and bury himself in my arms! Every batch there would be one or two super affectionate chicks like this. Sometimes they'd peck on the glass door if they wanted attention. They loved to sunbathe in the yard and play with my dog. Such characters! I remember being initially really surprised by their affection, then realising how odd that was because we expect it from other types of birds.

The bard rock rooster was called Graystone, his two hens, an Americana we named Crystal and an Isa Brown we named Red Bird. The other two are Golden Sebright bantams, the rooster is named Rascal and his hen is named Cheerily. They were all wild when we got them. We started taming them by holding them. When we first got them the roosters would attack us. Before Graystone died he would follow us everywhere making sure nothing would hurt us. Or he would follow us because we had food. R.I.P Graystone. Red Bird would sit on our arms and just look at us, when we'd hug her she would wrap her head around our necks. R.I.P Red Bird. Crystal would sit in our arms and let us play with her fluff. R.I.P Crystal. Rascal will crow when you pick him, regardless of whether you're holding him in your arms or letting him perch on you. Cheerily will sit on our hands and talk to us some. Or if it is cold out she will get into our coats and snuggle up to us. These are the same wild bird we first got.

What a beautiful story. I had tears of happiness in my eyes while I watched. I'm on my laptop while my OSCAR, an 11 year old cat that was abandoned by a neighbor of mine when they sold their house and left him behind. I was already feeding him that summer so he knew me and was absolutely adorable. We took to each other right away. So when he appeared a week after they had sold the house, he came in a frenzy trying to tell me his people where gone. I thought he was gone because they moved him with them. But instead, the left without taking him. I told him not to worry, he would come live with me and he did. He became my boy. He was about 4 years old at the time. He's sleeping peacefully on his easy chair while I type. He is the most adorable cat I've had. The other one in my apartment is 21 years old. I took all his other 7 siblings and mom the day AFTER they were born. I was going to be a foster parent. But I fell in love and I failed as a foster parent. I kept them all. Merlin is the last of all those kittens and now Oscar will be my last cat. I don't want a pet to outlive me. He might suffer without me and I don't trust anyone to take care of him. I know how this man feels. These are not pets, they are helpless children that needs us. So we have to do good by them.

My dad just turned 81 and after his last pound puppy passed on at 14, he decided to foster senior cats and dogs. He recently sent out a group text with pictures of his newest guests: an eleven year old lab and his two bonded cat sisters, both eight years old. They all look adorable piled up together on his bed, watching tv together while it snows outside. Fostering/Adoption or providing Hospice Care for Senior Animals would/could be a wonderful thing for all concerned. You would have someone to talk to, ears to scratch and you could rescue them from the loud, scary, lonely and smelly place that even the best run shelter can be for any animal, let alone an older animal. Something to think about!

I googled it, and it seems like birds (perhaps due to different evolutionary path) can't carry the type of prions that cause these diseases, but I could be wrong. Love this. We had chickens as kids but our first was Rosie. She was our only chicken at the time and she was so sweet and loving. One day she just disappeared from our backyard. And no. No one cooked her…at least not in our family. We put up signs all over the neighborhood that an artist neighbor made for us. I hate to think what might’ve happened. We still wonder to this day. We loved her so much. We raised other chickens after that but they were never the same as Rosie. They really do have their own personalities.

It's videos like these that convince me more and more every day that being a Vegetarian isn't all that bad. Chickens, pigs, cows, geese, ducks, lamb, turkeys. They all have emotions and have the capability to love very deeply. I was a vegetarian for over 20 years before my doctor told me I needed the protein due to an illness I had. He told me that I needed to have meat proteins instead of soy and other forms... so I went back to eating meat like fish, poultry, and eventually pork and beef. My health has gotten worse over the years. It's time to get back to the diet that kept me healthy for 20+ years.

Instead of chicken, you can always eat more eggs. Eggs are the best meat and now you can even get them without a mini rooster being killed for them. They can be sexed already when the egg is just fertile when it's just a small lump of cells. So no need to let it be born and kill it after again. Also, you could switch in a couple of years to lab meat. (as early as now if you have money) Especially chicken is all animal friendly, they only need one feather. For lab grown cow meat they still need one (unborn) calf. They are rather far with lab milk too. In no time there will be no reason to kill animals anymore. You tuber Saucestache makes the best videos about how to make plant based substitutes for animal based products videos. If animals weren't killed and eaten, and were allowed to reproduce without limits, they would overrun the earth, eat everything in site, and then they AND humans would starve to death, or face death by disease. And I'm sure you DO eat meat by the way, as well as have a leather sofa, jacket, car seats, shoes, etc, and feed your pets with dog and cat food, which contains meat, by the way. They were made to be meat eaters, as were humans. Hypocrite. Plus, I myself love chicken..... I love it fried, roasted, stewed, in sandwiches, along with beef, pork, lamb, etc. Yum yum!!!!! 😆

Animals should turn around and do the same thing to humans . After all we are over populating the earth t destroying Mother Nature. At least animals don’t destroy the planet like humans do !!!! Animals are definitely divided into carnivores and herbivores, while human beings have their teeth structure and digestive system of a herbivore. Animals are animals after all, so they will inflict pain on other creatures, but we are blessed with a brain and sensitivity to think of other creatures with respect and compassion , which we are supposed to use instead of trying to kill them and hence prove our superiority over them. I have a tiny little rooster who bonded to me, and he's my constant companion. He loves car rides, crawls up on my chest and cuddles when I'm feeling down, and does what he needs to do when he thinks I need protecting. They really do make amazing pets. Far more intelligent than most people realize.

Had a similar experience when my dad and I stumbled upon a lost hen, we decided to take her in and she acted just like a dog the whole time we kept her. She passed away in April last year unfortunately, but I’ll never forget her haha.

@@girlonlaptop hihi I wish I could but I'm not an American and here in the Netherlands it's different. I have never seen a Dutch person talk in front of a big Dutch flag no matter the patriot. Until a year ago, we didn't even had the dutch flag in the... Equalivant of the senat room in the capital building. Just not our culture (anymore) to parade with it. Or we keep it to kings/queens day (birthday of the king/queen and national holiday)bevrijdingsdag (Dutch Equalivant of 4 of July celebrating freedom from the nazi's, don't worry Germans nowadays celebrate it with us, or at least all my German friends do. It's a state sponsored music festival that stands for freedom, peace and unity after all) , and international sport competitions. Maybe that's it. It's just more concentrated on those days so we don't feel the need to do and show it every day.
