As a Marseille fan, we loved how crazy he was, it fit our club really well. And he knew how to motivate players; the problem at our club has often been that we have good players on paper, but who play like dogshit. He was what was needed to fix that, and lo and behold, we finished 2nd. Then he demanded iirc Coutinho and Griezmann or something to be added to the squad, and when the board told him "sorry bro we just ain't got that kind of money" he quit on the spot haha

The thing is, as a football fan, I kind of weirdly appreciate these weirdos in football. Most managers nowadays, and players, are so bland, so cold, so sterile, so politically correct and safe that I think it’s really hard to get any kind of a connection to them as a fan. That’s why Klopp is almost universally beloved, he wasn’t sterile, he wasn’t bland.
