You did do it 100% correctly. Where the end wall instructions said "inside" this means inside of the building. Yes placing the cover on the container would have made the pull easier. You guys are doing a great job. I sold & installed these for about 10 years. I enjoyed watching someone else do the work for a change.

Similar to what we used at Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan but without the prefabricated truss setup. Actually lived in a container, complete with a mini split air conditioner back in 2010-12!

Had to giggle when Mark mentioned that is what Dan does!!! I highly doubt that as all of you are so friggin' smart about how you work. Your teamwork really makes your dreams work. So where's the link to the trusses and canopy systems?
@Morndenkainen25 күн бұрын
Should have got the wider ones that go to the outer wall of the containers. You could have used the tops of the containers as covered storage and you wouldn't have to worry about water leaking in, in heavy rains. Know a few guys that have done this, all of them wish they'd taken my advice and gone wider within a couple years.

I've just helped a friend do exactly that, there's now about 30 motorcycles on the roof of the containers and we fitted a huge mezzanine floor too, all undercover....👍

Might look at replacing those zip-ties with Black ones. The white ones don’t typically have UV stabilizers in them. The black ones usually are UV rated. Had the same black zip ties holding my Jeep grill on the front of my Chevy Express 3500 & Transit 250 for years. They last the full lease of the vehicle (6years). The Jeep grill has seen better days though.
@Nova-m8d16 күн бұрын
That's nice but how many years is the tarp rated and what's the tarp replacement cost? I know the sun is brutal on tarps, it literally turns a tarp to dust.

**Guys --- having bought a handful of these from Ritchie Bros at the Denver sale over the years...and installed them at the windy climate of Kremmling, south of Walden...we've found now...buy the ones twice as long as what you're wanting...and fold the ceiling in half...so it has two layers...and they last A LOT longer...our first one, lasted three years in the extreme windy winters here --- this one now...is going on five years...doubled over, and showing no signs of weakness --- FYI --- we hung ours with a 200 LC Deere hoe, a manlift and a Lull telehandler...and lots of people...and then framed in the front with a 14' garage door in the front, rehung from a teardown on the original CDOT buildings in Walden we tore down years ago...(Just our experience...might help someone else. That came out beautifully. Gratefully, non-Mark narrated and explained; it was a bit shocking to see Mark himself do something other than hog the camera and blah-blah on and on about himself. It's also the first time I've seen a Bobcat used to nudge a container. Nice job, all! What concerns me is now long that friction tape and those zip ties will last in the wind and weather. Those materials tend to get brittle eventually after heati9ng and freezing. I can imagine these reaching fatigue at some point and the entire skin blowing off. Praying that doesn't happen for a few decades.
