The DTs doing something was amazing in itself but IMO Maxpax going back to Collosi was key to actually whittling Clems army down in the late game.

DTs do a lot, frequently. They're great units. MaxPax himself has proved many times how OP they can be.

DTs are rough especially with blink. Spread you out when controlled right and it's very difficult to have the right amount everywhere. Clem did great though. Wonder if his TPM will spike now against toss. Lol

Im probably blased, but what i feel very strongly the difference between Protoss and Terran balance: Terrans proxies in game 2 and you dont scout, you die (game 1 was an anomaly, im sure nobody else would have defended it, and even MaxPax could botch the same defence another time, it was prefect). Terran dont scout Protoss proxy in game 3, they loose some economy ... Terran defense both early and later seems so tough to break naturally.

i mean, clem did have a safety bunkier and pulled workers immediately, which resulted in 10 worker deaths putting Maxpax ahead. Maxpax made the shield battery too late in game 2 which resulted in his units dying before he could pull the probes, so he died immediately.

@@wuschu5563 a good point, on other hand it all comes down to tools for me: Terrans can salvage bunker, so its more easily affordable. They can mass repair the bunker, making out of a shield battery a laughing stock.

@@firestarter000001 that is fair, but bunkier requires units in it to work while battery doesn't and can be overcharged. I think each has their strengths and weaknesses. In the context of the matchup, terrans don't have many cheeses that work on protoss and the few that does can be countered by single battery. If you do it right you won't even need to pull probes. As you could see bunkier did not prevent clem from still taking economic damage from maxpax.

@@wuschu5563 That last part i cant agree on. The shield battery helps a bit, but even 3 marauders can focus a shield battery incredibly fast. Various 1 base and 2 base all ins with tanks laugh at shield batteries, because either the Protoss will sit at the battery and be shelled to death, or they need to attack and get out of range of the battery. I see it in pro games, and die to it often whenever i play the ladder (dia2)

@firestarter000001 i said cheese, not all-ins. A marauder proxy like the one clem did can't focus down a battery if you any units. Marauders have no healing and have to walk up past your units already shooting at them. I mean, they probably can kill the battery if they commit, but it will cost them so much hp you will defend anyways. And it's not like planetary fortess or bunkier can defend all-in on their own... edit: just to clarify, when i said "a single battery" what i meant was "a battery with any units", obviously battery can't defend on it's own since it can't shoot.

@@jebediah4780 They are as much of a counter as ghost counter all protoss with emp. That's called a soft counter. Maraduers win a straight up fight, stalkers try to never give them one. Both are armored and deal bonus damage to armored. Marauders have simply better stats, while stalkers have more mobility. To show you the difference, stalkers can't poke when you have more than one tank or they get eaten alive. Did you ever see stalkers blink-micro inside the liberation zones while fighting something? i thought so. They avoid them like fire. Soft counters depends on skill. If maxpax could play to the strenght of his unit composition while not allowing clem to do the same, he deserved the win.

5:25 why even Clem using Ravens as idiot? Instead of keeping Raven alive and using it vs Observers and Dark Templars, he sends it to the enemy to deal zero damage. And this happens every time I see Raven, rather than even Clem being so stupid that he doesn’t understand that mobile detection is better than killing 5 probs? god damn

If you think Raven's can be "kept" through to the late game maybe you need to rank up higher than plat. Also there's the basic logic flaw of a Raven not being able cover all the paths a DT could take 😂

@@hivetech4903 you get an advantage in a different way anyway. With Raven at the base, you at least interrupt the free vision of your production, when Clem’s Raven died, he had an Observer flying freely around the base. Moreover, you say that “Raven not being able to cover all the paths a DT could take”, but that’s not the point? Maxpax always separates the Dark Templars into different corners, forcing Clem to spend one scan per one templar, Maxpax also often destroys turrets as a counterattack, and you can see how much time it takes Clem to fight back, he spends scans, returns part of the army, and all in order to deal with five-six templars. And the main question is, what is the dispute about? Do you seriously want to say that destroying five or six probs with Raven's turrets (and he is kinda slow and might even be intercepted) is better than denying vision and Dark Templars? And the late game is the late game, there the Terran has a ton of scans, but this is the fifth minute, this one Raven gives you a certain reliability in the next 3-4 minutes, but it’s worth it.

You should watch old streams from Clem and Serral, not only is Clem good at cheesing but his late game is impressive too, and you kind of have to cheese as a Terran player sometimes.

It's funny to me how desperately they seem to avoid wanting to make DTs genuinely useful as anything other than a cheese unit, when Terran has Ghosts, which can cloak, snipe bio units (so you know, literally all of Zerg), EMP literally everything Protoss has, and drop nukes on your defenses/mineral lines.
