How this possible when taking anastrozole which gives us so many negative side affects. I want to feel well on a daily basis, am fully prepared to eat more of the better foods and reduce the not so good foods, but the drugs are constantly affecting us negatively in so many ways, that is just ridiculously hard to overcome

@@janetill1158 I totally understand. I work with a lot of women on these meds and the side effects are not always easy to handle. I do find though things like diet, exercise, sleep strategies etc to be helpful - I wonder if there’s a board certified naturopathic Doctor that can help in your area? ❤️

I’m a radiation therapist and I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago. I was always confused about whole grains as some people say it’s not good for you, but I suppose it’s the fiber that would make it beneficial? Also, what’s your thoughts on baked or grilled chicken on occasion?
@drbeckyndАй бұрын
@@amya9597 hi there! Yes the benefits of whole grains lie in the fiber but also nutrients that are there when it's not refined and processed. The data still shows that lean protein like chicken can be part of a healthy diet. ♥️

Surprised on the oil & fish to have, the potatoes not to include. Hmm?
@drbeckynd Жыл бұрын
Great points! olive oil and fish is a big part of the Mediterranean diet and have been shown to have tons of health benefits (including anti cancer impacts) - the potatoes I’m suspecting are more around fried versions which can create a chemical called acrylamide. This may be cancer causing but more studies are needed. It also is a high glycemic food ie spikes up sugars faster than whole grains for example or even sweet potato. Hope that helps!❤️

Hi there! Great question - it’s most likely a good question to ask your ND/MD but I can say some amount of complex carbs is healthy for everyone. With my patients around weight loss we look more at including more healthy calories ie healthy fats. I’d think about getting assessed further in case there’s another reason for the weight loss (ie hormones?). Hope that helps!

I’m confused on the dairy. Is it because it comes from estrogen producing mammals . Suppose to get calcium but in whole foods not supplements . Ugg. What about eggs?
@drbeckynd Жыл бұрын
There’s conflicting research on the dairy but it also can have high levels of saturated fats which can lead to more chronic inflammation, weight gain etc which may impact cancer risk. Calcium per serving is actually similar for non dairy alternative milks now too (ie about 250-300mg per cup), there’s also other sources like almonds, kale, broccoli, bok choy, beans, etc. I’ll have to post on this! 😉

It’s not worth risking having any soy
@drbeckynd10 ай бұрын
I respect that and it's definitely an individual decision. The recommendations have changed now from even places like the American Cancer Society and Canadian Cancer Society because of the volume of research showing its safe in moderate amounts and may even be protective. Interestingly - the populations that consume the highest amount of soy tend to have the lowest incidences of breast cancer. But I think everyone has to do what they feel comfortable with for sure.
