They're defensive is so superb that they're the anti-curry team. Where every team lives and dies by the 3, Thunders live and are thriving in their Defense. Great video! OKC was a top 5 defense last year, and replaced their weakest defender with 2 top 5 defensive players according to advanced metric w/Caruso and iHart... So yeah, of course they'd be better defensively.

It's as if these guys just discovered that defense can win games. Check out the Detroit Bad Boys from the 80s and Kevin Garnett's Celtics from the 2000s. Go back a little further and we discover 10 NBA championships by a defensive Celtics team under Bill Russell in the 60s. It is nothing new, but it works if everybody commits to D.

People aren't talking about it because they're still drifting towards the norm. They came out absolutely blasting and people did actually talk about their dominance early on, but now we're in sort of a "wait and see" period to see where things go after a substantial amount of games have been played. Man at first I thought it was the suckiest thing ever that he was out but honestly now that he is it really gives a lot of other guys good opportunity to prove what they can do longer format and coach Degnault is letting them do just that. Wiggins is proving he can be essily be a crucial piece to any potential championship team/contender. Cason Wallace has got some starts, Ajay Mitchell is showing his potential, Dillon Jones getting some time, etc...They probably wont have as good of a record by the end as a result, but so far look at how little that matters. I dont need them to have some historic record this season, just go out and try and get that number 1 seed again( which looks very likely this year, but at least top 3 lets shoot for). Once Chet gets back they'll basically be invincible I swear. Can't wait to see Heartenstein and Holmgrem run the front court together with Shai, J dub, and Dort in the back. Insane...

People said the same thing about Wolves' top tier defense last season about being one of the best in recent memory and the Mavs made them look like idiots. 😂 If not for Lively going down, they would definitely get swept. Of course, OKC is very good. But if we're comparing defenders between teams, Wolves was arguably a better defensive team that this current OKC. Mavs just knew how to exploit them in the playoffs.

They haven't played 30 games and if they were in the 1980's or 90's they would be a middle of the road team behind the Clyde Drexler Portland, the Magic Johnson Lakers, the Shawn Kemp Supersonics & Charles Barkley Suns in the West.
