As a Jewish person, I've dealt with antisemitism my whole life. I've had swastikas painted on my door, told that me and my family deserved to die in the oven, etc. My family has also been greatly affected, to the point that my great uncle's photo was in newspapers at the time with his abused and starved body on full display, and has been interviewed on his experience in the concentration camps for the Holocaust Museum in NYC. His brother had to escape through a window with only $6 in his pocket and watch in hiding while the Nazis broke down his family's door and grabbed my great uncle and their parents. Anyone who can get Kanye to stop being openly antisemitic can then use him as the ultimate, "I can't be a Nazi, I stopped Kanye from being one," card and the ultimate, "I have a black friend," card. It also offers right-wingers a channel by which to influence the black electorate. So, you can see Ye as sort of a golden goose for them if only they can get him to play ball by their terms. I’ve lived with three people who have bipolar disorder(including my father), it’s not an applicable excuse under any circumstances here. These thoughts and opinions are 100% who he is, it has nothing to do with his disorder. What is likely happening is he’s having a fixation episode on this issue. What happens is every time your brain isn’t actively occupied with something else, it constantly defaults to thinking about one singular thing. That thing here being his own grossly bigoted thoughts and conspiracy theories around them. It’s all he thinks about, and his narcissism(sometimes made worse by bipolar disorder) is making him feel the need to spread this knowledge he thinks he has and can’t get away from, to everyone. I’ve seen this happen plenty of times, it can be a fixation on any small thought, a hobby, an issue, but whatever it is isn’t a product of the disorder, the obsession is.

Bipolar or not, he fully believes these things. But you’re right, it’s certainly not making him easier to reason with.

I would say this is sad. But it’s been a long time coming with Kanye, and honestly anything that happens with his career from here on out is entirely on him. You can only watch a car crash so many times, before it starts to lose its affect on you.

Personal experience as a Mathematician, STEM creates extremely backwards, underdeveloped brains, who constantly promote extremely lazy solutions to social problems, often made-up "problems", due to them keeping the prejudices their illiterate parents and grandparents taught them, who are extremely good in only *one* thing, and completely fail at everything else, yet they are constantly being awarded for being abject failures, as long as they hand in their "homeworks" on time and keep publishing papers later on. Some STEM-lords are trying to avoid the obvious problem by cutting off Mathematics (*the* STEM field) as "not real science" and hyper-focusing on the Empirical aspects of science, failing to notice that almost all sciences (except maybe Philosophy and Pure Mathematics) are empirical, even the softest ones. I've met people in STEM who were pretty much Nazis, believed in Metaphysics, God, Theology, Biological Essentialism, but the belief in an *objective* History was too "out there" for them! Of course, if History isn't even real anymore, you don't have to upset yourselves with all these inconvenient things that happened in the past, and you don't have to risk people developing critical thinking skills and/or a spine, and threaten the "social order" of today and putting your paycheck at risk. So basically, I've seen STEM people acting more like Medieval priests of old rather than actual Scientists, actuaIly aspiring to be more like them even. I think this is what happens when Capitalism ruins everything, but not thoroughly enough to make everyone embrace fact-based thinking🤣

in our country there’s two fields that are taken seriously (engineering and medical) and everything else is just seen as a hobby or ppl don’t think there’s actual opportunity to develop in those other fields so they don’t invest in them. and this comment honestly describes how a ton of them start to think. these aspiring students (most of them are forced to study stem because of capitalism and poverty) become fundamentalists and lack the objectivism that actual science should really bring. they don’t understand the real spirit of science that is curiosity and creativity and that is why they lose touch with humanity and become radicalized with political/religious groups. they don’t see that we’re ALL biased, not just ppl who work in the arts. we all make assumptions because its easier to come up with a solution of a problem that involves less people and easier for the human brain to assume we know something (when we really don’t). but that is never the reality. reality has always been much more complex than what we reduce it to to arrive at those sorts of conclusions, and that grouping people like this achieves nothing better for society that hasn’t been done before and failed at miserably. if you reduce it to benefit themselves enough, ofcourse the lives of everyone else looks redundant to them.

The fact that Ben Shapiro called Kanye "one of the most sane people currently in public life" after that initial abortion interview is fucking hilarious. Also, it might be interesting for you to know, The Daily Wire is not covering the Anti-Semitic remarks, at all, yet are covering Tom Brady's divorce.. Which is pretty illuminating as to the viewing audience of DW content. Meaning they are avoiding the potential loss of viewership by refusing to acknowledge and critique West's statements, which essentially means that a fuck ton of Anti-Semitic people enjoy the Daily Wire..
