Im in my 70 s learning German and this has been a good explanation of language structure, something that was never clearly explained when I was in school. Thanks

Hallo Alison! Thank you for your comment. I think it helps to think a bit more deeply about the structure of the language, rather than just learning all sorts of tables - it’s important to look for patterns in the way things work. I’m happy it helped. Alles Gute BB

You definitely derserve more followers - I wish this had been available when I first started learning German, but am not too far down the road not to be able to benefit hugely from your clear explanations. Thank you so much.

Hallo Tina! Thank you for your kind comments. I never expect anyone other than my own students to watch these videos, so if anyone else finds them useful or interesting then that’s a bonus:) I’m glad you found it useful. Alles Gute BB

Thanks! As always a great video and explanation……would you also do a video about German reflexive verbs.

Gerne! There‘s a section in Bausteine zwei on these verbs so I think there’s one in the schedule- I’m trying to get the videos out before my students here get to that particular week :)

These cases are a lot to process, far more difficult than French in my opinion. How do you recommend I study further?
@bausteine11 күн бұрын
They most definitely are more complex than cases in French, which are perhaps more like English. I would recommend not trying to learn them all at once. Most important will be having a good understanding of what subjects and direct objects are. There’s a video in the Bausteine eins playlist that should help. Work through the videos one by one. If you felt it would help the textbooks (linked in the description) might help too. It’s important to understand the basic structure of sentences and what the role of each noun in a sentence is.

Wonderful Video, lot of thought went into making this as simple as possible of a very complex topic that the brain needs to tune to for a non native speaker. Sehr Dankbar Billy. Cheers.😊

Thank you so much! I'm glad you found it useful. Yes, it's a complex topic. And all the more so, because the way articles behave in the different cases is not particularly uniform across the different genders. But seeing them as categories has been a useful insight for my students. Es freut mich, dass Ihnen das Video gefallen hat. Alles Gute BB

I have just discovered your videos, amazing! You explain things so well. You referred to a textbook in the last video I watched. Do you have more info about this please?

That was a fast pace! p.s. I also make edu videos, what is the software you use for editing/animations please? Camtasia doesn't do these... Danke!
@bausteine Жыл бұрын
Hallo! Thank you! Yes, it was a fast pace, and a lot to take in. I'm always happy to answer questions about software etc, as its something I really enjoy doing. I use Davinci Resolve. The graphic elements were all made by hand (by me) in the Fusion tab. I'm not familiar with Camtasia, but there is a free version of Resolve that would allow you to do most of what I'm doing here. In earlier videos I used Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro / After Effects), but as long as your software allows you to work with keyframes you shouldn't need anything too special. Viel Glück!
