I watched your review and hoped to feel differently, but I actually ended up refunding this after an hour of gameplay. While it was interesting, I already could tell this farming sim did not have that addictive loop feel for me that Stardew Valley and others do. I appreciate your honest opinion and it made me feel better about being okay not enjoying it myself! It did run great on the steam deck at least for those looking to get it there!

It is a farming progression game, it is NOT a simulator nor is it actually marketed as one. Not to mention, ONE hour of gameplay, for ANY game, unless it is one of those MTX driven android app games, is NOT enough time to even begin to give it a chance. Anyone looking to do themselves justice to see what a game is about, will easily spend over an hour with it. I personally feel dumping a game after only an hour is more of a cop out and buyers remorse. Possibly buying it because on the praise of others, but knowing you probably wont like it, and using that as a reason to refund. Sorry if this comment seems a little personal, but, just how I feel.
@stellamariss333511 ай бұрын
@@wpgngaming-videos888 personally I actually know within an hour of playing whether a game if it’s gonna be for me or not. It either pulls me in or it feels like I’m doing a chore. I still try playing games I don’t enjoy much because I’m hoping I’ll start to like them but I never really do. I always know if I’m gonna like the game or not after I get the feel and understanding of the game world and the main goals it will revolve around. I think the characters and world you are playing in matters a lot, and sometimes I just don’t feel a connection or desire to be in that world. It doesn’t interest me to spend time in it.

That's the exact thing with stardew valley for me, roots of pacha clicked immediately. The vibe, the community working together and living is so much better then stardew, the progression is much better and comftorable and some much needed features in stardew are also all in roots of pacha, like not having such a big map with npcs all over the place without knowing where. And with social events here and there and early on in a friendship makes it so much better as well.

You know, this game never resonated with me (I'm just not into the Stone Age aesthetic), but the music here has me in a vice grip. What a soundtrack! Might need to add some of these to a cozy tunes playlist nonetheless. Sure seems like they had plenty of fascinating concepts too (though I can't tell whether Ideas would be cool in concept only and annoying in actuality lol we are used to plenty of those conveniences already, unfortunately), though the characters failed to grab me from the marketing too - which, in a farm sim, is a death sentence from me. But I really appreciate you giving this game a fair shake and being so forthright with all your opinions! Hope the next one you cover hits home with you all the more :)

I really like ROP, I just started bought on day 1 but haven't had a lot of time to really get into it, but so far it's my kind of farming game, I'm always looking for "different" in farming sims and this one certainly is different. It's the game for me, the only thing that worries me now is the mining, like you I can't stand puzzles ( I'm just not good at them and get frustrated)..so I hope that doesn't put me off the game. Anyways thanks for the review. ☺

Yeah i def liked Roots of Pacha at first a lot. But the map is EXTREMELY small. Theres literally the village beach mountains and plains. And those are not big areas really. So i got bored once i had explored those areas and did the cave system only to realize that was it. I had the same problem with animal crossing new horizons that everyone else loved. In animal crossing there is literally nothing to do but decorate a very small island. The villagers don't say or do a lot. And Roots of Pacha felt the same way. Too small of a map. Games like this are fun for like a week irl to play, before you've seen everything the game has to offer and its just changing aesthetics with no way to further progress. . I enjoyed roots of pacha wayuy more than animal crossing new horizons. But i still got bored after a week. Stardew offers so much more and is so much nore addictive. Roots of Pacha and Animal Crossing are missing that Stardew addictiveness where you just want to play one more day Fields of Misteria gave me the same addictive one more day feeling but the game isnt full released! Its like 1/4th of a game! And after two days of playing i hit the wall and there was no more content.

So how long does each day in the game take than? I did get Rune Factory 5 last year and I really liked it at first, but over time things started bothering me like the farming mechanics became very tedious especially with the 'leveling up' mechanic when it came to the seeds and other factors. I realize the biggest issue was the pacing, the game felt like it was going on for a long time and a day took over an hour. I was so use to the faster pace of Stardew Valley (I could get through 1 day in 30 minutes). I actually haven't finished the main story yet. It's sad because the game does have great chars and a nice story. I do like the festivals too. For me the best part is the char interactions, but it's not enough for someone like me when the gameplay is lacking. Probably due to the fact that I am an old school gamer when Story wasn't at the forefront of games back in the day, it was all about the gameplay. So yeah this is a game that interests me, but with so many other games on my wishlist that I want more (like Story of Seasons: It's a Wonderful Life), if I do get the game, it'll be down the line. But yeah pacing in a Farming Sim is a huge factor for me now. I love puzzles though and have yet to really experience that in a farming sim. But I know I am not the best at certain types of puzzles. Like I love puzzles in Zelda games, but I'll be honest there were types when I needed a guide. I definitely need guides for Genshin Impact because some puzzles you had to think out of the box for them. They reminded me of the first puzzle game I ever played- Myst (and that game threw me for a loop, I was a teen at the time). So I do want to ask, what kind of puzzles were in this game?

I absolutely hate the fishing mechanic in this game It is so mindless I mean I know stardews is nothing special But at least it has some vibration and it does require some basic hand eye coordination This is just watching for the bar to fill up and clicking Maybe it gets better as the game progresses but that was the one thing that stood out to me as being very poorly realized I want to love this game So far I’m not super impressed Very well made and all Just not really doing it for me

I regret buying this game. I have around 15 hours I think. I hate the ugly pixel graphics. They look rough and unpolished. I hate watering the plants, I hate fishing, and there are too many NPCs all of who are boring and I have no desire to increase any friendship with them. I also think it's dumb that I have to look at a map to locate them. Because the landscape and all the huts look so so similar. I got bored of sunhaven too but at least I got a lot more hours out of it and the game feels way more polished.

I honestly don't agree at all with the fact that this is an innovative game, this is a reskin of stardew valley, a foreigner arrives in the tribe, is adopted by an old couple that he refers to as his grandparents, and becomes a farmer (even tough in prehistoric times people were strict hunter/gatherers) . The stranger meets the villagers, can talk and gift them items to make friendships, helps with quests. He forages and gathers resources with his tools that have to be upgraded to be able to gather "evolved" tiers of the same materials. A couple of days after his arrival a cave opens up and there he finds strange creatures that can talk and give him quests to progress the story. There is also a location where you get rewards when you have achieved certain milestones, many having to do with collecting certain amount of items. Sure there are some differences, like the fact that puzzles replace combat and the animal friendship/taming is a nice addition and that one yes I agree is innovative but it's just one aspect of the overall game. I'm not saying it's necessarily a bad game but I admit I don't like that it's so similar and I also, like you, found that I loose interest after a while.

Respect your opinion. Happy gaming!

it s sad that stone age in this game is just a gimmick and feels more like a decoration for me. for example - too much different skin colors, as i understend in that time almost all humans was black. and where is my hunting? And people speaks like modern citizens...
@MissBubbles Жыл бұрын
Can't comment on the townsfolk cause I did not enjoy interacting with them however the stone age is definitely not a gimmick in this game. The progression in tools, ideas and clan milestones are a breath of fresh air
