This is almost exactly like an old roommate I had. Always had a story why it was reasonable to be in his situation. Loved to blame others for his laziness. He would make lists, and then say he had to complete them in order, when they were in an impossible order. Didn't track his taxes. I really wished him the best, but it was dragging me down trying to help him. My favorite was when he blamed me for his lack of motivation because my success dragged him down. Still a good friend of mine, but it was healthy for me to have him move out.

So you figure out how to get a new one. I've forgotten my badge at home (left in yesterdays pants) and even just lost it (maybe clip breaks...). I just got a new one or a temp one for the day. He's kind of saying he just doesn't show up when it was lost? I really don't get it.

He has the knowledge and resources, just needs to flip that switch. Change often happens slowly, then all at once. But also the guy should probably be seeing a therapist before a financial advisor. Haven't seen your page recommended in a while, till a short popped up about a woman ditching some child support by going to a lower paying job, but this was a good find at a good timing for me. At around 2:55 that's gold. I'm currently at a good paying career and I noticed if I just keep telling myself I can spend more as I make more while not taking care of necessities first, I'm going to stay in that paycheck to paycheck scenario, have to fix the leak first. Good stuff man!

Well all those people likely run businesses and don't talk honest about the fact they are always looking at the numbers and likelihood when making decisions. So not if you have very different conditions it might not work but the system rewards wealth at the expense of all the other factors so.... There is a difference between blame and good reasons for something....

Then it just got worse Then I took out an SBA loan instead of buying just a brand new truck I bought a used truck paid off my back taxes as much as I could because I didn't want to take out a huge SBA loan and then yet again use semi truck blows up.... Whatever savings I had left in my business and in turn selling my pickup truck I just bought a brand new semi truck with $4,000 month payments and yeah I'm still in tons of debt with the IRS and now can barely pay the SBA loan half the time so great

Addictions can be gotten over somewhat quickly without help. It's called cold turkey. There's still cravings for weeks to years, but it's mostly behind you fairly quickly. Not everything can be immediately stopped, some addictions need medical help to get over without serious risk of not being alive. Watching stuff is not one of those though. You can just set that one down, though like most things the sucesss rate is pretty low.

I think he recognized the algorithm. The people that rode scooters all this time are gonna be able to buy autos probably by next year for pennies on the dollar. But u assumed we had a bad attitude. It's strategy. This guy is not going to be burnt out or contractually obligated when he needs to act. It's a very weird situation. Normally a positive attitude is recommended. Because in the recent past all downturns quickly resolved back to growth. And negative attitude drags one down long after downturn is over. . It remains to be seen which strategy is best. And deflationary pressure is building in various sectors like Auto and gold is falling. Seems to be shaping up like the deflationary collapse of great depression. You know when deflationary pressure came after inflation and rigging years. Don't get too down on yourself because you got a great attitude. But imagine how miffed you would be if this guy is your boss in ten years.

I’ve known people like this - he’s stuck in his early 20s phase thinking it’s cool/normal to live paycheck to paycheck, with no legit career, probably wants to go out drinking/smoke weed all the time and wondering why his buddies (who have a wife and kids now) don’t want to anymore. There’s an underlying depression which is why he turns to addictive things to get the dopamine hit and distraction. Hope he works out alright but he won’t with his ‘life is a joke just keep laughing’ attitude.
