VR makes games more immersive. I wish more devs would consider a VR mode in their games even if it's without motion controls!

Baffles me that Ubisoft don't do this themselves, given that their art assets are always the best thing in their games.

yeah, especially considering Ubisoft has the most VR titles released of all the big publishers. I get that developing more native VR titles like AC: Nexus, Star Trek: Bridge Crew, Space Junkies, Eagle Flight hasn't turned out big profits (I don't know any numbers about the short games they make for local VR venues), but they could make much better use of that built up know how and experience by adding at least basic VR functionality to their big titles. And it doesn't always have to be first person VR. Playing something like AC Valhalla and Origins or Immortals in 3rd person VR still immerses you so much more in the world. I don't get why that is happening so rarely.

Star Wars Outlaws is the same engine as the Avatar game... Imagine a first person VR mod for Avatar with those graphics?? Ian, if you read this comment, please make it happen! Also crazy would be Space Marines 2 in first person VR.

There is a good N64 port to PC of Star Wars Pod Racer, so a mod could actually be possible.

"The biggest complaint is that these mods are 3rd person only" 🤔🤔 Who are these people? I'm all for options, and perspective changing mods are fun, so I think it's cool that Luke Ross made a first person mod. BUT this is a third person game, as are all the other third person game he's made VR mods for. What's the big deal? People get SO HUNG UP on VR = first person, and VR = motion controls. I'm glad these mods exist so I at least have SOME VR games to play that are not all first person motion control games, its a fun change of pace. As much as I love the first person hand sim genre, sometimes it's fun to play other genres of games.

What graphics card is this running on? I was sorely tempted to try this, but with a 4070 Super, I suspect it might be less than satisfactory and I don't fancy shelling out £1,600 for a 4090... Great video though, really enjoyed it :-)

Yeah this game really needs a first person mode in genreal, even if its like rdr2 and not really playable combat wise.

Not like I want to shame modder who made this cuz it's awesome idea but tbh it looks mid, like cool you want can see details in first person but still gameplay here is still not fitted to it

Whatever framegen you're using here(FSR, DLSS, asw) it absolutely ruins the presentation. The depth of field seems to destroy the video quality too(not sure if that's in headset too but looks like it is). The effects look like they're not even close to 20fps. Cool idea but I can't imagine doing this for more than an hour.
