This episode was great, simply put. Not just all the information with Allen and his part in the story or Omni-Man coming back and reuiniting with Mark, but all the character development with Debbie too is really great. She was not super fleshed out like this in the comics, so all this stuff we see of how she is having to deal with the aftermath of Omni-Man's attack and how she went to the support group and unintentionally met one of the spouses of the fallen guardians is all completely original to the show but develops her character massively. It's really making me want to see how much more they develop her character and in what direction they go from here now that she effectively has no immediate outlet for her emotions.

They literally just adapted their dynamic from the comics, slightly sped up to accommodate for the show’s more streamlined pace. Amber is dissatisfied with Mark when she doesn’t know he’s Invincible because he’s a bad boyfriend, they have a fight, figure their shit out, Mark starts being honest, Amber starts being understanding of his responsibilities, and then they have sex. I understand why people who previously despised her like her now, but I’m still embarrassed for them. Because it’s shallow, and because it reveals a childish and transactional view of relationships and relationship standards.

What I love about this show is they managed to take multiple issues of the comics that could easily be 20 to 30 minute episodes on their own, fit them all into 45 minutes, and somehow NOT feel rushed! Also I loved the fact that just like in the comics the narrator kept trying to give the heroes privacy when they would have sex by trying to switch between stories, but when both couples where hooking up he panicked and just kept talking outside Allen’s room. And all the questions Amber had about having sex with someone as powerful as Mark are questions I’ve always had about Superman and Lois Lane!🤣🤣🤣
