He didn't choose baseball for football he just got injuries and as Cook got better he would have to sit and wait, then the tj surgery so the staff has to keep looking elsewhere

He wasn’t screwed over Brady Cook earned it over him..The majority of Mizzou fans including myself didn’t have much faith in Brady Cook going in to the start of last year and then he proved himself and outplayed Horn..No one was screwed

I played football and baseball for 4 years at Mizzou from 2001-2005. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done! It’s almost impossible for your body not to break down at first because of the physical demand from each sports. Unfortunately, each sport kinda takes away from the other. Spring football is major as its the time you get bigger, faster, stronger and compete for starting positions for the coming season. Equally, the fall season for baseball is major for coaches to build their teams for the spring. So because you miss essential chunks of each sport, you’re seen as not being fully committed to either sport. That’s why you hardly see kids playing two sports at major universities anymore. I tore my ACL in the last practice headed into the Independence Bowl game my junior year. But I truly hope he gets back healthy and confident in his abilities!🙏🏽🙏🏽… MIZ!!!

Can we do Mitch Mustain? Former #1 ranked QB coming out of high school back in the 2000s
@rwm47685 ай бұрын
I'm still holding out hope that he might come back in 2025. Cook will be gone, and the only other experienced QB on the roster will be the transfer Drew Pyne, so there is an opportunity for him. There's a lot of talk about Matt Zollers, but he will be a true freshman in 2025. You also have Aidan Glover, a high three-star in the 2024 class, who didn't look even remotely ready for college football in the spring game. It will be interesting to see. It certainly is a shame that Horn's injuries have kind of screwed him over. Ultimately, that was a risk he decided to take by playing both sports, and if I recall correctly, one of the big reasons he chose Mizzou was because Mizzou was one of the few schools willing to let him play both. Whatever he chooses to do with his athletic career, I wish him the best.

Horn didn't get screwed over. This is a team sport that is about doing the best thing for the TEAM. In addition, each player has to earn their way through depth chart. Injuries happen. Teams rarely guarantee the starting role to a player. Horn did not get screwed over.

@jseanm695 ай бұрын
I agree this is very misleading. Sam is hurt and will still have a shot if he wants. He will get a medical redshirt and have to beat out the competition. Again, if he wants. Being injured happens to a lot of athletes. That is not being screwed over by anyone or the team. It is just something that happens.

Dion Sanders, Micheal Jordan that said I don't think it will happen again b/c the risk of injury is to high for a modern-day pro team to allow it. But it still happens in college James Winston, Russell Wilson, Kyler Murray are a few football/baseball players that come to mind. Tony Gonzalez Julius Peppers Antonio Gates for football/basketball.

I do not see how Sam was screwed over. If he had not had Tommy John surgery on his pitching/throwing arm he would have been 2nd string to Brady Cook this year. He is dressing out for home football games this season. I expect Sam to compete with Drew Pyne and Matt Zollers for the QB job next season.
@jfranken795 ай бұрын
Horn wasn’t screwed over, at all. Cook won the QB job and Horn got hurt. Besides, if he got “screwed over” then he wouldn’t have been allowed to pitch for the baseball team.

“screwed over “That’s a horrible title to choose. It should be how he screwed himself over or how unlucky he was with his injury, or lack of commitment to one sport but he was not screwed over.. hes just one of many that peaked in high school and didn’t want it as bad as Sam Cook that’s why I don’t agree with these so-called Star high school players getting treated like Rockstars too soon . I follow high school football a lot and I’ve seen so many athletes that I thought would go the distance only to get their butts handed to them when they find out how much work it entails not everybody.. but entitled snowflakes in high school they get treated like their rock stars and are not prepared when they get a taste of the real world. He did not get screwed over. He got a dose of reality of what life is really like when you don’t commit 100% and an unfortunate injury . Nothing is gonna get handed to you just like the old saying if one guy is given $5000 for doing nothing and the other guy worked for the $5000. The guy that worked for the 5000 he will appreciate it more and will get more out of it Such as respect and character. Players like Schrader #7 .. he was a walk on. watch the movie on Netflix “greater” about Brian Bullsworth.. every high school athlete should be required to watch that movie. I know I got off-topic a little towards the end, but your title is very confusing on this.

Drink has a love obsession with the fan boy Brady cook. Thank god he won’t have a choice but to move on after the 24 season. We will not win a championship with cook he’s simply not good enough.
@JamesFranklin-ud4ibАй бұрын
Scott, you need to remove the words "screwed over". I generally enjoy your content but this is just misleading and inaccurate. Mizzou bent over backwards for Sam and allowed him to pursue his dream of two sports. No other major program would allow him to do this (for as long as Mizzou did), and likely a key contributor as to why he ended up at Mizzou. That said, Sam never picked a sport and continued to do two sports. He got hurt in baseball and it continued to take his focus off of football. He was not keeping up in the film room or in his football development. To this day, Mizzou is standing behind him with both his scholarship and NIL deal. I have to believe if you talk to Horn directly, he would commend Mizzou on continuing to stand behind him. Drink had to continue to recruit QBs, that's true of any program at any level. He didn't recruit over him, most programs get a QB recruit or transfer every year.
@ImRightYoureWrong4525 ай бұрын
I was excited to watch Sam play, unfortunately he probably never will. He's out this entire year for injury and he'll have to win the job in 2025 against some very talented dudes who all like football more than he does. At this point i think he should quit football and focus on baseball. The football team needs more from him than he's willing to contribute.
@jacklake57973 ай бұрын
I don't understand this video. Starting as a RS freshman in 2023 would've been way ahead of schedule. Theoretically he should be healthy for 2025 & could easily win the job with eligibility through 2027. Also Drink takes a QB in every class no matter what, has nothing to do with what they think of Horn.
