the positives: high production value, great new UI and weapon animations, great story ideas, great new level, shared player stashes the negatives: unskippable ingame cinematic sequences, limited weapon variety, you get nocked out and or robbed so often that it gets old very quickly, the control is taken off the player way too often, you get thrown into almost unwinnable fights after cinematics way too often, unsatisfying endgame, no quick travel option - you have to run back to cordon every single time you want to upgrade or repair your equipment.

I thought it was pretty decent and gave it a 7/10 myself but its missing A life which makes it feel a little repetitive and bland at times but the story doesnt pick up until the later half of the game. I still appreciate the quality and effort that went into creating this entire experience though. It's very well put together, good cutscenes and voice acting was pretty great! My favorite part was finding easter eggs of moments from the first games like finding the pseudogiant in the sewers as you exit the lab in yantar or the new floating village anomaly which was pretty cool!

I went crazy last year and re-played all the stalker games again (with some mods this time to update the gameplay a little) and this year have been getting into GAMMA.. but am finding it could be a bit of a time sync but still really cool. I think i might have to try this one out before Stalker 2 comes out. Thanks for making this video. Really well explained and well done :)

Everyone and everything are shadowed by Anomaly and Gamma nowadays making little to no space for other productions. Let's change it and make people aware of different way of modding stalker!

Funny thing, I hate walking simulators, but LostAlpha never seemed like one to me. Of all the STALKER mods, I liked it the most, especially after STALKER Lost Alpha: Revisited was released, but as I see, other updates were also released for it. This is the only game that has given me health problems, headaches and anxiety, and I've played quite a few horror games. STALKER simply has its typical atmosphere.

My #1 gripe is the questing structure. Way too many "Gets knocked out and has weapons/equipment taken away" moments... Not to mention the endless multi-map fetch quests with no fast travel...

That, and cutscenes. I know they are necessary for the storytelling part, but there is just too many of them and that results in no desire to replay the mod. Once you complete the game, it'll become exhausting to re-play it.

The way this mod is able to faithfully build on the base game’s foundations and make a sequel that’s really well designed/written makes me think of the mods for Classic Fallout that do the same thing. It’s crazy how someone is able to create something like this. It’s too bad that we don’t have something like Daggerfall Unity for Classic Fallout that ports the game into a much better engine with various bug fixes, quality of life improvements, and makes it very easy to modify the game. I’m sure if that existed more people would be able to enjoy the classic games. Then again, isometric rpgs aren’t very popular, and Daggerfall is much closer to modern Elder Scrolls than Classic Fallout is to modern Fallout (in fact, Daggerfall is where the foundation for so many of the things we’ve come to expect from Elder Scrolls in terms of lore, gameplay mechanics, and other things). There isn’t much overlap with the fans of one to another. I should probably get the game next time there’s a Steam sale. Let’s hope that Stalker 2 electric boogaloo is able to do something similar to this mod and doesn’t fall flat (although, I’d be lying if I didn’t mention that a small part of me is hoping for a tremendous dumpster fire. Purely because it would be funny). If Sony ever puts their “Halo Killers” Resistance and Killzone on Steam do you think you’ll ever do videos on them, or probably not? I’ve wanted to play those for a while. They both look interesting and have genuinely interesting lore. My child, you have peanut butter in your mouth. Stop speaking when you have nothing to say. No, I did not pay Quasi and will not Feed Nana. Enjoy prison, stalker! (Fatrick Tomlinson reference. He calls everyone a “stalker child”, so I thought it was fitting😂)

The Patrickverse is this really weird rabbit hole that’s really entertaining. Although, I will admit that lolcow content isn’t for everyone (I remember once I was rambling about Chris Chan and you said he was a sicko and didn’t want to hear about him anymore). That’s a long time. It’s too bad that Sony has abandoned so many of their old IPs. I recently watched playthroughs of the Resistance and Killzone trilogies and it was interesting seeing how both franchises changed overtime. Let’s hope that since Sony is FINALLY realizing that porting their games to pc will ONLY benefit them they’ll start porting their backlog of games in addition to their newer ones (in the future they’ll be day and date and it will be glorious). I saw some people got those working on their Steam Decks. It’s pretty cool what can be done with that system. I got mine last year and it’s been a blast. Although, I haven’t figured out how to emulate yet or how to use games from other launchers.

You should play the Trapped / В западне mod. It's probably one of the best Stalker mods ever made. It's not a deeply and carefully written story mod, the main focus is gameplay.

You should definitely try out the Goldsphere mod! It is story-driven mod with high references and inspirations with Roadside picnic. The story take place at the begining of THE ZONE, when everybody just starting to exploring the possibilities in it. (Also there are some choices making too) The mod have now a english translation.

Best Stalker mod I've ever played. Especially the first time I entered this new big area was so immersive. It was a long time ago that I felt this level of mystery in a Stalker game/mod. Also I think progression is kinda perfect here, since I found a lot of good loot (and ended up rich at the end), but I think I also for the first time ever ended up regulary buying stuff (and also gear) from the traders.

as far as i've read, you should install each patch in order, one after the other, not just the latest one. not sure if it makes a difference, but i ran into some problems, and after doing it like that the game worked for me. now running patch 1.5

i played that game for a little bit but stopped because i had to travel with basicaly no stamina and anomaly everywhere making every step a gamble for your life if you dont walk around throwing bolt every 10 second to make sure you dont run in an anomaly. It may be different in the latest version of the game because i only played the original release without any patch, plus i really hated the first mission because there is so much radiation that if you dont know where are the artifact you have to find you will die of radiation or use all your med that you may need later.

honestly mate i dont see why people like TS so much a large majority of the story mods i've played are way better. TS didn't live up to its hype at all. Its a nice change of scenery from the bland, boring freeplay mods that have dominated for years now though. The lack of a-life, and getting knocked out every 10 seconds to progress the plot is what really gets me. atleast its translation is good though unlike most story mods. The inventory kinda sucks I think. I much prefer the inventory tetris we have in vanilla over this modernized sorta witcher 3 inspired inventory.

I didn't finish the mod, but I can confidently say that it's a mixed bag for me. The mod is great, but I don't like the hud/UI, to me it looks like something from a Ubisoft game, I hope that there will be a mod in the future to have a more traditional hud/UI. And the last thing is when the game gets really good it does something very annoying. Without spoiling anything, in Garbage there is a very good story quest that makes you walk from one edge of the map to another several times, and another very VERY good story level after you leave the Dark Valley was very annoying to finish because it keeps teleporting you to a certain spot over and over and over... again, maybe I just kept triggering something idk. But it's good and recommend everyone to play it.

@@BrokenCircle1 The one the military protagonist follows the big bad into a room and gets knocked out and left to die. It just felt cheap, I just finished clearing that base of heavily armed combatants and my *military* protagonist suddenly forgets his training and just rushes into a room to his doom. They could have handled that better.

That isn't the true ending. I do agree that ending could have been better though. Load up your save for when he enters the building with the alarms and go through that first door and turn left. You wont be dissapointed.@@SouthernRex-1994

@GamingXPOfficial I've gotten a few complaints on this one. It was recorded at 1360x768 which is what my monitor is. It looks fine on my PC (directly from the file) but KZbin in the upload process seems to have made things quite blurry at times. No idea why.

ONE MAYOR FLAW here: every animated scene the stalker is knocked out...even when wearing the exoesqueleton, wich on the model gaves the player a high heavy kevlar helment but somehow someone punching you on the back on the head of said helmet can knock you out...and its on every animated scene. the game make a couple twists and still great but i hate the scenes.

i was trying the mod but i was kinda disappointed it felt ike you could never really use the gear you get later on and also the mod is missing something the really scary parts of the zone get cut out and although i like the story just the simple fact you get "knocked out" or caught like 20+ times then having to retrieve your gear is kinda annoying first 5 times were okay but then ...

Every STALKER experience is worthwhile no matter how far it strays from the OG intent. It's the vibe. Survival in the Zone. Vanilla or "wannabe mil-sim". This mod is oozing with production value though. Been playing a few hours now and I'm seriously impressed. My only complaint is I wish you could up the grass and flora density by like 400%. Otherwise, it's pretty amazing.

No chance against gamma. Its almost a different subgenre though so its not a good comparison but since you mentioned it: most of the gamma/efp/anomaly things you mentioned are actually positives. At least for the non casual players.

GAMMA was a good mod when it came out. It was fun to play, and didn't really add anything other than a few mechanics. Then later... All kinds of casual players came out of nowhere and infested the Stalker franchise. Now, you have like all kinds of mods that do not even belong to Stalker anymore. I was okay with Tarkov stuff, but now it is more than Tarkov.

I don't personally like it for alot of reasons but them aside the problem is that Stalker mods have been almost completely taken over by the milsim style. The issue here is that's not what Stalker is. It is being fundamentally changed to the point it seems more of an imitator rather than an innovator which is what it was.
