YES! This generation is "robbed of hardship" and as a result, rarely do they understand the actual cost of their comfortable lives. Someone, lots of someones, paid a heavy burden to create the lives and comfortable existences we have today. There's a quote that says " Hard times create strong men, strong men create good times, good times create weak man, and weak men create hard times' - G. Michael Hopf. It rings truer & truer every day.

Wish you could have been there when my parents, uncles, & grandparents telling the tails of coming up in depression times, my daddy lied the day after Pearl Harbor, that he was18, instead of 17. The telling of so much history thst has been lost, because everyone’s got their head in these phones but not talking to the old folks. Such wonderful times.

I love what you said about self respect v. self esteem. The reality is self respect usually begets self esteem in an organic, soul deep way that allows a person to be much more resilient even when they stumble. I’m currently reading a leadership book called The Obstacle is the Way about turning trials into triumphs and how the biggest difference between those who succeed and those who don’t is how they perceive life obstacles. It has a similar philosophy. Great song choice, and dead on introspection. Thanks!

I am so glad I got to meet them back when they were up and coming in the early 90’s in Knoxville. They both were so kind, funny, respectful, and loved goofing off with their fans. It a small venue too so only a few hundred people, meaning we got to spend more time with them. Less security and scrutiny back then too. Good old days. RIP Troy…

What a great video! As an aircraft mechanic with over 30 years xp, I will never understand why the pilot did not set that helicopter down immediately upon having problems. The beauty of helicopters is you can land literally anywhere. Maybe being in the presence of a celebrity caused him to disregard good judgement in not wanting to disappoint Troy or cause him to be late for the show etc. Either way, he will always be missed. Great singer and U.S Veteran. Thanks for the reaction Sebs.

Hi Sebs….love your videos. Your reactions are so genuine and I love that you give props to all music genres. I’m in my mid 60’s and have lived a full life. Blessed in so many ways. Not a lot of money or possessions, but I’ve been married to my husband for 48 years. We have an amazing son that makes us proud everyday. 2 incredible grandchildren that fill our hearts completely. The love and wisdom we got from our parents and grandparents guide us everyday. We wouldn’t be who or what we are today without them. I’m so proud of all that they sacrificed so our lives would be rich and full….and not from money rich…but the rich history and love they blessed everyday of their lives. Keep up the great videos.😊

I'm sure your family is happier having you there with them making less than having you away working or whatever.... making more. You can't make happy memories with your family if you aren't there with them! I know I was happier when my mom worked as a waitress for min. wage and home every night.. than when she got a job on the road being away for days sometimes weeks at a time. We weren't making memories .... she gave up that job and we were all much happier! Poorer yes but we ate, frugal but we got by ..... and made memories that will last forever........ that's something to be proud of! Hang in there Sebs........ you are on the right track! Love how much you love your family !!!

Just a note, never, ever apologize for anything you believe or feel. There is only one judgment you will receive and that is when your last day comes. Be yourself, be proud to exist, and ignore the haters. Throughout this life, you have only one person to satisfy and that is yourself. And the simplest rule is to "do to others as you want to be done to yourself". It covers every possible situation in life you encounter. Excellent review on this one.

I still remember when I heard about Troy's death....so sad :( his memorial they had at the Grand Ol Opry was sad too. I remember they had I believe Dierks Bentley and Rascal Flatts singing "My Town" and then Eddie Montgomery came out and sang the rest of the song with them. Troy's wife and daughter were in the audience and cried/smiled.... You should definitely check out "Better Man" that Troy mostly sings; it was recorded before his death and I think came out after his death... Other good songs of theirs: Gone, One In Every Crowd, Back When I Knew It All, What Do You Think About That, Some People Change, She Don't Tell Me To, If You Ever Stop Loving Me, and Hell Yeah

Montgomery Gentry ( Eddie Montgomery, Troy Gentry) is one of the few duos in country music who you can recognize no matter which of them is singing. Most of the duos, if they switch the main singer, you might not recognize which duo is singing, i.e. Sugarland, and Brooks and Dunn. I think Troy's son sings with Eddie since Troy's death.

No father is gonna be disappointed if their child is happy, productive and taking care of others. It's ultimately our goal as men to be productive, protective and to provide for those we take as our own. I don't need any of my adopted kids to win the Nobel Prize or have millions in the bank to be proud. I want them to feel happy and fulfilled and able to look at themselves in the mirror and like what they see.
