@ScottParisi yeah, someone already pointed out early. I accidentally said Aerosmith was at 6500 when released but it was actually 7900 MSRP. 6500 was the number at the end of 2019. So the percentage was correct, just my root number I reported wasn't the one I used

Some (or all?) percentages to dollars aren't jiving. This is disappointing because most of the video uses percentage changes that may have been incorrectly calculated. Example: if Aerosmith sold new for $6,500 and now trades for $12,000, that's an increase of 84%, not 52%.

@buy_gone so I did catch that later. Aerosmith Prem didn't release at 6500. That was it's price at the end of 2019. I actually compared it to the Premium MSRP which was 7900. Which puts it closer to 52%. Sorry about that. I know what's going on in my brain. Can't you read my mind. 😆

I’m guessing you’re only looking at asking prices since that’s what’s publicly available. I’d go out on a limb and say prices are a lot lower than what we actually see on the market place. There are a ton of people still over valuing their machine and aren’t selling. The machines that do sell are deeply discounted.

@rickrago227 it's an average of what sold for a particular month. But it's also only what was reported. I am half curious to see if some of those lower sales are suppressed but who knows.

I don’t know where these figures are coming from, but watching the market for the last three months used pins including LE are way down. The market as a whole is stagnant this is why manufacturers are raising prices for 2025.

@Johnny-Five like I said in the comment above, the prices are coming from games that were sold that were reported. It's very possible that the low sales haven't been publicly published or even worse, the info is being suppressed.

It is a great time to be a buyer, more selection than ever. If you are a seller, may be best to keep your investment in the game by trading rather than selling. If a buyer, I would look for a used game, and wait until new games become used.

I just found this channel, very interesting thanks. I am in the UK and also I am not interested in price changes over the last 10-15 years, maybe that makes me immediately of no interest to you but I’ll plod on: what are the trends in values in the UK market for pins in the 1990-2005 era, if you have them? If not then no biggie, have a nice evening dude. I respect what you are doing here.

The %increase/decrease (especially the PotC JJ comment) are they normalized for volume? That would be an interesting analysis. Yeah, there are some 20k+ JJ PotC for sale but how many are actually moving?

@staRgraZer81 so all the numbers are based solely off of an average of games sold per month that I do my calculations. It doesn't account for volume and if that volume is sitting. When volume sits though, prices go down. Like JJP's current situation with GnR. Even the factory was trying to move GnRs at 2k less than normal. It's all a game of, sit and wait to see if the market recovers so people will buy at the current price or drop the price to move inventory. With this much volume on games, buyers win because they get to pick and choose what the best option is for them.

Great idea for a video. I think it has great potential if you can figure out a way to streamline it and deliver it into short 20 minute (or so) video. Also, you might have to cover all the different pinball eras like 80’s, 90’s, 2000’s etc. (That’s a challenge) Lastly, I’m sure you heard this before, Pinball is NOT an investment. You said it on this video so…. Had to point it out. Don’t say that! 🤐 You’ll offend Pinsider’s (plus it’s true) unless you’re talking to flippers.

@andreaminiati2410 so if the game has been out less than 5 years, i take the end of 2024's average price for that game and compare it to it's MSRP. (IE - TMNT LE's MSRP was 9100 at release and the end of 2024's average was 9200. Hence the 1% increase.) I also compare the end of 2023's average to the end of 2024's average to get the 1 year percentage drop or increase
