Nice video. Remember some basic ship stability: The higher you put weights and the further away from the transverse centreline, the more they have an effect on the list, due to the distance from the vessel's centre of gravity. High weights also make the boat less stable. Always put weight low down. I would also invest in bilge alarms, separate from any pumps, under the floor and in the engine room. The piece of mind is well worth it.

As your water tank runs down any small weight imbalance will be magnified quite a lot. The boat will seem well balanced with a full water tank then it’s list city with an empty tank. Also if your moored on a less than perfect mooring it’s very easy to catch up against the ledges caused by speeding boats. You did exactly the right thing by checking your bilges next time first thing is to un tie the boat and see if it corrects itself 99 times out of a hundred it will. The boat listing when you don't know what it is can be very stressful because you fear the worst. But you checked that you weren't taking on water (and let's face it, that is probably the worst that could happen on a boat) so then you have to think it's probably just weight distribution or maybe grounding out or something like that. I understand though, it can be difficult to convince yourself it's all fine. Congrats on the 100th episode 💯 😃

Well done guys. Lovely to see and hear first hand how you deal with anxiety and stress. I'm learning a lot from watching, thank you. On the listing point I understand a bit about physics and mechanics and also about wet wood. It's really heavy - so if you put loads one one side of the boat and it's on the roof then it's a big weight above the centre of gravity (the waterline) Any other tiny changes in weight distribution will make the boat lean a bit. Don't worry about it when moored. If the bilges are dry you won't sink. If you're cruising it will be more efficient to be level, but it's something to observe and tweak, but not worry about.

Yay! managed to get to this 100th. Could have commented on loads of your earlier ones but you've probably solved all those issues by now. Loving it.... I'm looking out my windows in the middle of another snow storm...I have had our roof shoveled off last month, ($650.00), and there's another four feet of snow now... Roofs are collapsing around ours and surrounding communities, one beautiful community lost their library when the roof collapsed under the snow load. And the good news is that it doesn't snow at -40°F so it's had to warm up to 10°F...Heatwave ! We all have our trials and tribulations..You two hang in there. I appreciate you very much. Its got to be the water level dropping guys. I've had it before on the Thames, dropped 6 inches in about 10 minutes, ropes went tight. An hour later all was fine :-)

Congrats on your 100th Vlog. Good work checking your bilges. We had an issue with our boat and tried a variety of different solutions including moving the furniture, coal, logs etc. It turned out to be the pump under the kitchen sink. There was water all over. It's fine now but I still spend longer than normal staring at the stern to make sure we are level.

Water always a problem! Boats sink, houses (roof) leaks! If you got a tyre or two to drop down between the boat and ledge to stop your boat shelving onto it? I sympathise with panic attacks, just makes things harder. Hugs from a New Zealand granny, you both problem solving well.

In some cultures, being pooped on by a pigeon is considered good luck. I think people just made that up to make themselves feel better about being pooped on by a pigeon, but I guess you could also choose to think the pigeon chose you because you're so special? 😅

As long as things are dry in the bilges there is not much to worry about unless you are a cargo vessel! Did you consider the amount of water on board, the waste tank (if a pump out), diesel in the tank? The logs on one side on the roof will make quite a difference though - the higher you place weight the more the listing effect (not just distance from centreline). It did look like the waterline was low too, so were you sat on the bottom on one side? I will be watching for the next video to see if you have an answer to the mystery. I'm with you in worrying about a boat listing, but as I said at the top, if the bilges are dry I wouldn't worry unduly.
