Tipping or gratuity was considered to be payment in the early days of America as a means to pay slaves in lieu of paying a wage for services performed…and they were expected to live off that. But now America taxes people on their tips and that is why it has become an election issue for both republicans and democrats…..with Harris and Trump….but a lot of countries add a percentage onto your bill at restaurants etc….and some just put up the prices….some Asian countries consider it offensive…..all countries have differing ideas….so whenever I travel I always ask politely what is the normal procedure…that way I hopefully get it right…but one thing I never do is feedback or reviews..it is not my place..it is the business who are obliged to make sure their business is run adequately and professionally…and if not you can simply not do business with them….because the onus should not be on the customer.
