I never "got" Phil and Holly but I always assumed that UK viewers loved them because they presented so many shows . Now it seems nobody liked them after all. How did they get so many top jobs if that is case. Does anyone have a good word to say about either of them now?

It's what ITV and the BBC do. They have a handful of presenters whom the public like, then put them on any TV show possible in order to get more viewers. Unfortunately, this often results in the public becoming utterly sick of the same 'stars'. Phil and Holly, along with Ant and Dec, have survived for a long, long time and certainly more than most presenters. Phil's downfall started with his insincere 'coming out', continued when he and Holly supposedly jumped the queue to see the Queen lying in state, and finally, his brother's unsavoury dallyings with under aged boys. There's another rumour splashing around, but I don't believe what people are accusing him of. I think the combination of the above has put the public off him.

Holly was trying to protect herself. The friendship between her and Phil was always fake. Fern Britton was better than Holly but left due to being paid a lot less than Phil.
