Uthermal talking about all 3 races, and his MMR with them made me think of what I have wished for, for a long time. That pro play was with all races. It would improve it so much, make it more entertaining, there would be more different games, players can use different skills to greater effect. Tactics will matter much more. It will add so much to the game, and make it more fair. Because look at how often Zerg ends at the top. SC 2 suffers a lot from race wins at the highest levels. And that is sad, it takes away from the winners, and it also means more will just go play the race that wins the most. And it is also just bad for the product. So having pro players having to play all races. Best of 3, you have to play all races. The one picking map, pick race. This will make map picking way more impactful. And the other will get the chance to pick into it, planning what race to use. Again adding to the game. Could even allow Random. It would be a big gamble. But also might give an advantage. Again just adding to the game. Best of 5 games you have to play every race at least once, and no more than 2. I really dont get why this has not been done for a long time ago, would make the product much stronger, much more fair. Add to it in so many levels, with tactics, skill and choices for the pro. giving so many different ways to play, instead of it being the same over and over. SC2, has the same maps. ( They are not "created" per game ) and only 3 races. And the races are not super balanced. And all of that is bad for the game, bad for the viewers, and bad for the pro players. Having pro players playing all races, will unluck so much of the game, giving so many different options, it will make it much more unpredictable. And way more engaging and fun for the viewers. To me, this should have been done 10 years ago. It is by far the best way to bring SC2 ahead in the pro scene. Because right now, viewer/tournament/engagement, SC2 is actually losing to AOE2. Something needs to happen. And I cant find a single negative about this. Other than players with the most winning race not liking it. And players who are stuck and do not like changes.

I think what you learn from that map is the same hard lesson from ZvZ when the opponent makes roaches and you think you can get upgraded zerglings and win. You basically can't. You have to deal with the gold immediately. Edit: I'm just hearing your thoughts on ways to change. Cannon Rush, YES. Zealots with charge? No. You just can't keep up with the econ.

I don't know if you'll read this, and I don't know if it will mean much to you, Marc, but your videos really helped me get through some things in my life. I was making chicken tortilla soup like every other day and everyone in my family was saying things like, "Not again, please God why?!" But by watching your videos I didn't make dinner at all, and everyone was happier because they could make Top Ramen or Mac and Cheese and actually get some variety. So it was really a win for everyone and I want to thank you for getting up every day and making a difference.

A new challenge idea, take a silver against gold game. Save the game when you know the silver has lost and then you (uthermal) takes over all the units and bases of the silver player. You will have to save thr game from a big disadvantage

im super late but game 2, could have waited for sentry energy and recalled a few steps closer to the zerg ramp? yeah the economy diff was still huge but separating the ravagers from the corruptors could have helped, plus recall home with all your units and setup up again

Hi Thermal, you're awesome, love your content ! I'm a silver player and I've learned a lot from you ! I have a suggestion, I see how in a lot of your videos at the start you question if you played such player and are afraid to replicate such strategy on them. How about if you keep an excel list/chart of your opponent matches/challenges that way , you can prevent from doing the same strat on them. Have a great day !

If I was protoss on this map, I would take the third position, or natural and tech in natural. ONly because the map is so large for protoss and Protoss lacks speed. Roach body count is deceiving though. Lack of scouting the gold, or denying it, I thin kthis map would work really well with 2-4 adepts patrolling and impeding zerg expansion or given you notice. Can shade back adn forth. So the map being the way it is, or 4 phoenix against z, and guard and watch the expansions utilzing the speed of the phonixes and lifting drones.. This way you can better position the army. I think 4 phoenixes spread N/s in a path covers. 80 percent of of the mpas vertical line, allowing you to see anyone crossing your vision threshold. Meh... Fast 3 hatchery. The map might require an early aggression, but its kind of tough since zerg can lay down hatcheries pretty quick and early... You could also do a Cannon expand rush, this jsut annoys and slows down zerg, about, 800-1200 investment. Which is 2+p, or 6+3p. You build it with a back board. although ravagers might kill them for free, slowing the expansion down is pretty important. Also you can do somethign funny on gold which is have the photon cannon and pylon ready, adn out of drone and hatchery, adn so when it is built its immediatelly attacked by a cannon, or just stop the build there. Ideally Terran has many ways, but spider mines on large maps as terran gives and saves map travel time. A DT, could be useful to stop the expand ,but it takes too long... Adepts... seem like the best coutner and gives combat mobility, cannons... kind of a okay investment... with shield battery can be good. Hmm Those or my thoughts. Adept defence, delaying and working to spot expands. I think this map is big enough thatif zerg goes three hatch any species can go three hatch. Just because ling speed would be delayed and there is quite a time to get across the map. Hmm.

The problem however, is how much investment do you want to use to block the spot, in the meantime, the zerg player just expands to a normal 3rd then 4th base while the protoss has spent an entire mineral patch camping this one spot. In all honesty, that map should nerf that base, either to JUST gold, or half gold, half +gas.

problem he'd be facing is he'd have to invest in a)forge 150min b) pylon 100min c) at least 3 cannons 450min d) the time it takes to get the forge, the pylon, and the cannons up. By that point most zergs would have tons of roaches and/or zerglings, and he'd be way behind on getting other aspects of the build out. What MIGHT work is Pylon->battery and then send adepts and later some stalkers to the spot. In all, yeah, that map is WAY imba to zerg. Maybe if he could deny the spire, that would give the tempests and other fliers some breathing room.
