22:57 This is a reference to a real tragedy that occurred at Kyoto Animation. A person claimed that their work was being plagiarized by the studio and set the building on fire, killing 36 people. This happened on July 18, 2019. As you can see, Kyomoto is a clear reference to that tragedy-the loss of brilliant, creative, and lovely minds. Nothing can change what happened, but I interpret that through this story, Fujimoto makes us realize the incredible privilege of being an artist. As an artist, you have the power to redo, rewrite, redraw, and revisit those solid memories and feelings that are engraved in your art

the Director for this movie actually requested the animators to not try and make 'perfect' frames. that if they made any little mistakes, to leave them in. its why it's sometimes squibbly. cus the director wanted to have Human art on full display. 🎨

9:46 yes, in some asian countries, it’s very easy to acquire different students’ parents’ names and their home address and phone numbers. Students use those info to hang out or do school related things outside of school. And parents use that to help each other take care of their kid for the moment.

Not-so-fun fact: The original manga was published on July 19th, 2021, exactly 2 years after the Kyoto Animation arson attack (July 18th, 2019) in which 34 artists were killed. The perpetrator was delusional, believing that the studio had stolen his ideas for novels. People immediately associated the manga with the incident, and a lot of controversy ensued.
