Our whole family enjoys the SCAR series! It's cool that you've made it entertaining but kid friendly. We just bought a 2013 JK and your adventures inspired us to take our first trip in the Jeep out to explore Francis Marion. We live down here but hadn't been to Hampton Plantation yet, really cool place! Keep up the great work and we'll be tuning in. Peace

I had no idea all these trails existed in SC. Like how you sprinkled the drone shots in! Mavic mini? Have you thought about putting a windshield mount in your jeep for your camera for those times when you talk to the camera?
@SimplyMustGo3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Yes, the drone was a DJI Mavic Mini 2 (I still use my 1 also but this was the 2) I have a windshield (or rather a dash mount) for my GoPro, but I've been actually using my Canon 6Dm2 for the vlogging bits and I can't mount that to the windshield. I'm working on another option for a in car talking camera that I think will be really good when I get it all together.

Is there a place that has your route mapped out?
@rakovsky39017 ай бұрын
The Francis Marion Forest supposedly has Venus Flytraps. It's a giant forest though and it would be nice to know where in the park they are. They might be in a part of the park that you would have to Bushwhack to instead of by a trail.
@SimplyMustGo7 ай бұрын
That’s awesome. I’ve never seen any there, but I admittedly haven’t been looking either.
@rakovsky39017 ай бұрын
@@SimplyMustGo That Forest is huge. One person who runs a nursery told me that they do 4Wheeling along the swathes cut through the forest by the Power Lines and see Venus Fly Traps along those swathes. She wrote, "We do a lot of 4 wheeling and if we go off trail there is a ton along the power line routes." It makes sense that they would be along power line routes because they like to live in open areas. It seems that the mid summer might be the best time to go because of how wet and muddy that area could be in March and April.
@rakovsky39017 ай бұрын
I made a list of all the places between Charleston and Wilmington that I could find with V. Flytraps. I posted it on Reddit under the title "What is the best place to look at Venus Fly Traps in nature?" Francis Marion Forest is the closest spot to Charleston out of the list.

Sorry, about the trash. I am a Carolinian and can attest to the lack of respect we have for the land and each other.
@SimplyMustGo9 ай бұрын
Yeah. Me too. It’s sad because it’s usually not the “off-road” community. It’s usually just locals who dump their trash, which is really sad. It’s the locals that should care the most.
@Mydailydadlife4 ай бұрын
I was just talking to a friend about this. We can't go camping close by or a short trip because the trashy people can and will do the same things. It seems the further west you go, to more remote places that is the better it gets because the trashy people don't want to spend time driving all day to get there. You won't see cabins preserved with unlocked doors and stacks of flyers in this area from back in the day. But you see it in the badlands of Arizona. It's quality of people.
