After watching this a week or two ago, i finally put a liter of this stuff together and washed a bathroom sink that hasn't been cleaned in over six months. The sink faucet shines and the basin is nice and white again. This stuff works GREAT! If any readers are still thinking about it, let my message convince you, this stuff is legit!

Hiya , not long found your videos and I can’t stop watching them, i want to make my own cleaner, but when you say washing soda, do you mean soda crystals, or do I have to bake some bicarbonate soda to make the washing powder, sorry if it’s a stupid Q LOL
@TayWoode
@TayWoode 3 ай бұрын
Yes soda crystals is the same as washing soda which is a stronger version of bicarbonate of soda. If you can’t get washing soda you can spread bicarbonate on a sheet and bake in the oven for an hour. It dehydrates the bicarbonate and makes it stronger, but use washing soda if you can coz it’s usually the same price and found just as easy

In the US- “Rubbing Alcohol” is either 70% (commonly) or 90% Isopropanol (Isopropyl Alcohol). For 50mL isopropanol, use 55mL of 90% or 70 mL of 70%.

Hi, last week I tried to make the solution, and the cleaning power was impressive! The only issue I had was that after a while I started to notice white patches in some areas, a bit of water and patience and I managed to remove them, do you know what could be the cause? Thanks!

It’s residue from the washing soda - wipe it with a damp micro Fiber (use this method for best results - kzbin.info/www/bejne/npm8d4GaeZiEhJo)

Does the rubbing alcohol act as a disinfectant even though it is mixed with water and other products?
@CleaningHowTo
@CleaningHowTo 2 жыл бұрын
Notionally it should to a degree, but it would need to be tested to be sure.

So which one works best? This one or the one with vinegar and alcohol? Have you tried all three combined?
@CleaningHowTo
@CleaningHowTo 2 жыл бұрын
This one is best general cleaning and maintenance; the one with vinegar and alcohol is specifically for hard water stains and soap scum. Combining all three ingredients would neutralise the vinegar and washing soda as one is alkaline and one acidic so it would make the mix redundant.

After baking my baking soda for 40mins and allowing to cool, when I add boiling water to it, it goes all lumpy and chunky. Is that expected?0yours seemed to dissolve quickly.

It can happen that SOME of the washing soda can clump - use a little more of the powder and remove the lumps with a sieve :)

Interesting stuff. Thanks. Rubbing alcohol and vinegar come in different strengths measured in percentages. For example our store often carries 70% rubbing alcohol but it is difficult to find 90%. I also recently learned most household vinegar is actually about 5% vinegar, but you can find 40% and 70% vinegar on Amazon. What percentages of rubbing alcohol and vinegar are you using?
@CleaningHowTo
@CleaningHowTo 4 күн бұрын
70% ipa and 5% acetic; realistically the strength of the acid and solvent shouldn’t make a massive difference once solvency and ph are attained.

So I advocate 10% of the mixture to be washing soda, 10% rubbing alcohol. If you’re making 500mls, you would use what you describe above :)

I list all the ingredients, measurements, and how to mix it in the video - I dont have it listed in the description as you need to mix it all in a certain way or it will go clumpy as per your other comment.

That’s not a measuring cup. It’s a fat separator. It’s used to separate stock from fat. You ladle the fat off of the top of the liquid into that container. The fat rises to the top after a few minutes. Since the poor spout opens from the bottom of the container the clean stock can be poured back into the pot leaving the fat in the separator. I guess in your business you could use something like that as an oil water separator. Just much bigger. Great videos and chemistry.
