That Charles Barkley story about high school graduation happened to me and I was Student Body President with a 3.7 grade point average....but, 1 teacher in 1st period stopped me from graduating 2 weeks before graduation... Why? tardiness... Never once did that teacher ask why and I wasn't ever able to find my words to tell her after that...now for the sake of other kids, I wish I could tell her it was because my mom abandoned me with my 3 little siblings and my alcoholic dad who struggled to take care of us... leaving me to be their mom every morning and every night... I was probably the only Student Body President in history that didn't graduate and didn't give a speech at graduation... somethings are just so hard to let go of.... and that's one of them for me... teachers need to really understand the impact they have on us..
