I don’t think backing out is nonsense some ppl join the lobby with 60 ovr builds, undersized builds, builds just created wrong smh Last night I played 3 games loss all 3 because my Center couldn’t get a rebound or dunk and my PG couldn’t score or make any good passes and this was after joining and leaving multiple lobbies so backing out don’t even matter it’s just time consuming sometimes your teammates just wanna lose it’s not like this on no other game 😂😂

I think that's fair too - and that's part of matchmaking (the first part of your sentence). I got into a game where I couldn't back out (started immediately) our Center was averaging 6 rebounds per game, and our PF was a SF who averaged 2 rebs per game. It was done before it started. But that's the matchmaking's fault. There's also no real reason why 60 overalls are getting matched up with 92 overalls, other than the player pool for 60s is way low and they would never find matches (that or 2K wants to incentivize players to spend on their builds so that they can keep up with the 92s).

I know plate color doesn’t mean everything but it’s a good indicator of who just made a build or who is liable to quit on you. The biggest performance hit is when you quit games. Notice blacks and browns will quit when things don’t go their way, regardless of skill differences. Say what you want but it does kind of separate types of players with some outliers of course

I think it does it's job for sure, but having a matchmaking system that relies on that shouldn't be as heavily weighted as it is imo. And by heavily weighted, it's because guys will quit on you in the lineup screen, so what ends up happening is black plates or bronze plates get stuck in plate hell. But it's a conversation that needs to be had for sure. I do agree with you that the system serves some utility, I'd just like it to be tweaked a bit more!

@@KevinCruz016 played 3 rec games last night. Played with a pg that was cooking, but we were losing by 10.-15. He had zero assists through half time and move halfway through the 3rd. The team couldn’t play defense because no one had any take built up and there weren’t any chemistry or rhythm. Held the ball 3 times for turnovers then quit. Of course we lost. Then the Meech m next game I went 0/0 and I had by far the best shooting on both teams 75 fg 74 3pt percent. How do you not pass the shooter the ball the ENTIRE game?

They need to get rid of the player performance plate. Others see a black or brown and automatically assume they are bad players. One player can lose a game for everyone taking bad shots and being toxic. A lot of players get carried to wins also and hop in solo when their friends aren't on. I hate waiting 15 plus minutes for people to stop leaving the lobby to get one game. Its fkn ridiculous.

It's my first time playing MyCareer, and the experience is...mixed at best. Good games are rare, and more often than not, it really devolves into whether your Center or Point Guard is brain dead or not

Some of the hardest players to "guard" imo are the ones who playmake efficiently. I've gone against players who scored less than double digits but got Takeover a bunch of times bc they're just straight up diming their teammates. The worst part is me not being able to do anything about it bc I can't control my teammates, and if I switch, then he'll start scoring 😂

This is facts man, getting take just by making the right pass is how a lot of scoring guards get juiced. Plus, because they're a threat to pass or score, makes them that much more difficult to guard!

They need a better elo system and i dont play 2k so correct me if im wrong but does rec have a ranks play ? The reason i ask is because you could not only get match up based elo but also rank. This way you rank will be effect if he leave a game also a playtime penalty for you next game ( 5-45 min way based on how many games you left ). That way if you just want to casually play but also want the option of being able to leave when ever you can and wont be penalized basically all of duty rank play or any other game with a competitive mode

I think pro am is supposed to mirror the ‘ranked’ mode. Correct me if I’m wrong though! Yeah I agree with you that there should be some sort of rank/skill criteria that gets more weighted to balance things out. What that is, I can’t tell you because I don’t know how 2K puts people in lineup screens (then people can shop for a good squad by backing out anyway).

There's obviously ways to incorporate skill into matchmaking instead of settling into a system where you're the hammer or you're the nail - which is majority of the Rec experience because of how people self-select in matchmaking. No one here is asking for Skill based matchmaking the way COD does it, which also leans into engagement based matchmaking.

I will say that matchmaking systems like COD are no bueno, even the strict sbmm in MyTeam sucks. But the current system isn’t great, imo! But I agree, that leaning into hardcore sbmm or engagement based matchmaking will ruin the experience.

Every game that has match making the community hates it. COD content creators basically had a whole turn matching off campaign this year.. be careful what you wish for. If 2k add matchmaking it should be random pro am for that

I agree with this to some extent. COD's engagement based/SBMM is bad. MyTeam Unlimited's SBMM can get roughhhhhhhhhh. So there's a system we should be looking for that doesn't lean too much into that type of matchmaking. But the way it currently is doesn't make it so that rec pubs are at all enticing to play especially for guys who can only do random rec. There's a middle ground in there that needs to be found. But between hardcore SBMM matchmaking and what we currently have, I'll take the existing system for sure.
