I WANT the people preparing my food to take pride in their job! Just because you work in food service or retail doesn't mean you less than anyone. I get a good wage, full heallth benefits, 401K, paid time off, sick leave, life insurance, etc. All while working at a worldwide truck stop. Myself & a coworker have college degrees. One is a military veteran. If people didn't do these jobs, what would everyone else do to get their daily needs met?

people always talk about wanting their workers to take pride in their job. Meanwhile they will vote to make sure they will get paid -the absolute lowest possible amount- they can get paid. They will ignore things like inflation and say stuff like WAGES CANT BE 20 DOLLARS, except that wages have been stagnate for over 10 years and really with inflation just being 20$ IS what people used to be paid, but people just pretend inflation doesnt exist when it comes to wages.

I’ve always found it was the customers who made me feel the worst about doing those jobs. So many go out of their way to make sure you really remember you are “serving” rather than acting the least bit humble that another human being is making something for you. I’ve even been asked why I’m acting proud.. when I’m just doing x job serving them..
@tinytt8543 күн бұрын
Somebody has to do "it". Whatever it is. There was a woman who cleaned the bathrooms and stairs and such. I Always spoke to her with respect. Guess what? I could tell when she stopped working there. The new person didn't take pride in the job. It was obvious.

I absolutely agree that nobody should shame others for what they do to make a paycheck. I also think it's important for people to remember that you don't know why someone is working in the job they are and at the end of the day keep in mind that they are working to support themselves. It's shameful to me that people denigrate others for doing a job that provides a necessary service and the real irony is the fact that the person making the hurtful comment is patronizing the business. Those employees wouldn't be needed if people didn't demand the service to begin with. And lastly, I'd like to commend you, Milad, on encouraging people to do a great job at whatever they are doing. That is something that to many people have thrown to the wayside. I firmly believe that if something is worth doing, then it's worth doing it right.

Milad I hope you see this. Your words were so beautiful and perfect. My 3 sisters went to college right after high school, but I waited. Unfortunately, no one in my well-educated family took me seriously until I finally went when I was 28. Worked 4 jobs and got my microbiology degree in 3.5 years. Had a great career for a while and finally hit a 6-figure salary. At 80 hours/week, I hit burnout at 40 and moved to the Caribbean. Unfortunately there was no work in my field there, so I cleaned houses until I started a business doing villa and yacht detailing at $50/hour cash. Made more money doing that than I did in my career. Retired at 50 because of my detailing business. Now, I live happily in Puerto Vallarta, MX, after sailing the world. Keep being yourself, my man. And to all of you out there, be proud of what you do and always give it your best! If I could do it, any of you can!

First of all, if it weren't for people doing these jobs, they'd have to MAKE THEIR OWN DINNER! 🤣 And secondly, Kudos to whoever is the one making these sandwiches! You are making edible sandwiches that do not need rearranged in order to actually eat them. Our subway people always put everything in the seam of the bun and then when you eat it you get a bit of toppings, a bit of meat, a bite of toppings then a bite of meat... or you have to rearrange it lol so THANK YOU!! :)

It's currently finals week and I'm struggling to see where my current path with going to school is taking me. I've gotten turned down for all the internships I've applied to and I don't know what I'm going to do once the term ends and I'm back home. Your message has inspired me to keep working for this week and to be ok with whatever happens in the long run, as long as I'm confident and proud of the work I'm doing. Maybe I will get a job working food service this summer, who knows? It may not be a fancy internship, but it's money in my pocket and a good life experience for anyone to have like you said. Thank you for sharing this, Milard. I'm sure there's a lot of people who need to hear this message right now.

I unfortunately have upper class parents that tried to grind this mentality into me, "you better study hard so you don't end up like this guy." I look at every job with equal importance, because it's contributing towards the good of society; with some exceptions like OnlyFans. My goal in life is not to elevate some social status and build behemoth wealth, it's to serve my community and my family. Nothing is more important then that. Thanks for the video!

The experiences I've learned from my first jobs really changed how I do jobs now. The first job I had I worked in construction, there's a lot I learned there that I'll be able to take to everyday things and even to some home ownership. Point is doesn't matter the job or field, there is no reason to put down other jobs as lesser as most jobs have skills you can learn that you can take with you wherever you go onto in life(just like your checklist) so anyone out there getting their first jobs just take them as a learning experience, yes some jobs suck or the pay isn't well but you still will learn something that stays with you

So, strictly speaking I've been out of work for about 15 months now (I officially graduated about 3 weeks ago) and have my first interview coming up in a week and a half since graduating. Working in pathology, you have many different grades (Band 2 to Band 9) and I have NEVER looked down on the lower bands, nor anyone outside of my field i.e. cleaners, people in the food industry, dog walkers etc... the only time I look down on others are those who look down on others.
