Honestly, I'd expect ot to say draw 2, but only during the opponents turn goven the theme of the Spell Cards seem to be based around how Yu-Gi-Oh characters would activate the normal spall versions of the cards during the opponents turn. Both Soul Exchange and Monster Reborn have been played like this in the anime. Pot of Greed was played during the opponents turn when Yugi versed Seto with the god cards

One thing about Soul Crossing verses all the other tributing card effects like The Monarchs Stormforth, Lair of Darkness, Soul Exchange, etc is Soul Crossing allows you to tribute unaffected by other card effects monsters! Why is it unique to Soul Crossing? “Because Konami said so.” Konami’s Soul Crossing ruling: Even if a monster is unaffected by Spell effects, that monster can still be Tributed for the Tribute Summon. The Tribute Summon is performed due to the effect of Soul Crossing, but any monsters Tributed are not Tributed due to its effect.

So for example, if you use Spell Card Soul Exchange to summon Obelisk, your opponent cannot tribute Obelisk when it’s their turn, they must tribute other monsters you control. So to get around from your opponent using the effect on you, you would only want to have the one tribute summoned monster on your field

People bring up that Kaiba should have lost cuz the Tribute to the Doomed works on any tributed monster. Two explanations: A) anime logic, it had to be attached to the tribute fodder, and since Obelisk can't be affected by traps he's immune. B) Ishizu was so dumbfounded by the move she forgot to activate the trap.

If you using Ra make sure you get Ancient chant to get Ra or another Ra out if you already have it in your hand and if your going to summon Ra that same turn use the secondary effect of ancient chant in the graveyard *DONT CHAIN SOUL CROSSING* let ancient chant go through *THEN* activate soul crossing so you get all the ATK and DEF from the 3 cards you used as tribute. THEEEN use your life points to get up to somewheres along the lines of 9-15 thousand ATK and slap that boy Into next Wednesday.

Fun fact: Ishizu would have won that duel against Kaiba during her last turn. She had 2 monsters whose total ATK was more than Kaiba’s LP. Instead of summoning a third monster, she could have: • attack him directly with both monsters OR • Kaiba uses Soul Exchange, Tributing both monsters and summon BEWD, which would trigger Blast Held by a Tribute if it attack inflicting 3000 damage to Kaiba
