That's because it scales with the meta. It draws cards. If the general card quality increases, then the cards it draws are better, so it's as strong as the other cards in the deck.

If you look at other games (I'll pick yu gi oh because it's what I'm most familiar with) draw 2 is so powerful that pot of greed is still banned to this day & any legal variants have you remove cards from play for the same effect. If auctioneer existed in any other card game, it'd probably be banned. From this perspective its sort of crazy Auctioneer survived for so long.

AM THERE! (8:39) 🤣 I didn't look at the name during the game to realized you were my opponent. Was my first time encountering this deck (& C'thun's new skin) so I was under the impression it was just a normal Yogg deck that bounces him back .Was not expecting to be OTK'd! I hesitated so much on turn 5 because I had received Regis' Nourish & wondered if I should ramp or tempo the Naga. Chose to tempo since I didn't have a 2 drop to go along with the Nourish & using it for draw later seemed useful since I somehow didn't draw any card-draw.

My hopeful nerf if not a rework is to make you draw the cards at the end of your turn. Still makes him a consideration for reload in spell spamming decks and potentially can still get full value the turn he’s played, but doesn’t enable 1 turn pop offs and shenanigans like he does right now

Let's be real if it gets nerfed and you cant do degenerate stuff no matter the rework he wont see play imo. But as far as possible reworks I think just capping the amount of cards you can draw pet turn at something like 3 cards would let him preform his original purpose of refilling your hand via cheap spells without drawing your whole deck in one turn

Lol armor, that's fine for 2 out of 11 classes if you can get enough armor at 4 mana Many times it will pop off on turn 4-5 and have no chance to play loath assuming you have it in your deck or drew it by then. There are plenty of counters to it though but you have to have drawn your counter by turn 3-4

@@mariohawkins4331 Speeker Stomper stomps their plan if you really think they will go off at 4/5. Every class can play dirty rat (they only run 3 Minions, thats why secret mage cucks them). And no, you are not realistically getting combod on turn three, I play mostly wild (to legend every other month) and I regularly get to turn 7 and often even to turn 10, depending on my deck. They do however usually combo you on turn 6, but if you have spend 21 mana without doing anything then you deserve to lose.

On top of that, Speaker Stomper stops Frog Shaman (one of the best decks) and Dirty Rat is just a good card. One of my options was "do not pass the first 4 turns", don't know whats to "techy" about that.

I can only think of "after you cast 2 spells, draw a card." Increasing the amount of cards needed per draw is a safe way but keeping it's feel. Battlecry to limit that seems off or even a deathrattle. Unless they plan to change it completely which will suck, but we will have to wait an see

Under the text when you play a spell draw a card add up to 3 times per turn or some other arbitrary number that feels good balancewise. The problem with auctioneer has always been cheap spells and discounting spells so they all are free basically and drawing your whole deck

Auctioneer isnt even the problem the problem is druid, it only works for druid. 0 mana aquatic form. Funnel cake 1 mana get 3 mana crystals its even better than prenerf Lightning Bloom.. and biology project is also broken asf But auctioneer gets nerfed for druid being op.. Biology project was also big reason kaeltas got nerfed ... because of mana cheat in druid
