If I do not move my mouse and just keep movement, how to adjust my crosshair at different angel?
@FriendNotFoeBand Жыл бұрын
I do this sometimes if there is too much visual clutter. Definitely to a lesser degree and not (intentionally) for style points. It's basically a swing through shot or in tracking it'd be multiple pull away shots like with the wingman. In clay shooting it's intended to improve focus on the target and as you know your post/crosshair and shooting mechanics quite well from repetition.
@xColdEmbrace Жыл бұрын
I think of it as a sort of soft focus. You don't want to tunnel vision on either the crosshair or the enemy, because you'd be missing out on lots of valuable intel. You also have to at times, try to ignore all the unecessary information that is not needed to take the shot, which in a competitive environment, it can be pretty difficult to achieve at times due to screen clutter, and pressure to perform, clutch etc. When taking a shot, your focus needs to be perfectly divided between the crosshair and the opponent. Its also best to quiet the mind and stay engaged and present for the best shot possible.

Should be noted part of the reason tracking before your flick is good for flick based weapons as opposed to doing this where you essentially don't track at all then make a flick is due to the ease of making a smaller flick as opposed to larger distance flicks. With an aiming technique like this you're generally going to be traveling large distances for your flicks which is not as consistent. It's why crosshair placement before fights even happen is so important, you want to only have to make as small of a flick as possible to maintain as much consistency as you can.
@OtsuDC Жыл бұрын
True. Or you can make 2 flicks. One to get close to the target and a second small flick to shoot

I picked this up awhile ago while playing hanzo in overwatch and have since applied it to other things. Essentially, like you said, it’s just removing as many variables as possible (your movement, excess mouse movement, etc). As far as rebound goes, your point about fire speed is good (In valorant I sometimes rebound the sheriff but not the guardian seeing as the guardian has a faster fire rate), but also I wonder how much of the benefit of rebound is due to playing how you train. For instance, I play a lot of aimlabs microshot which forces you to rebound to go as fast as possible, and I’ve found this has helped a lot with for instance the sheriff like I mentioned, but is something I’ve had to consciously unlearn when it comes to other aiming styles such as when rifling.

Interesting concept. To me, your point on the difficulty of flicking when combined with compensating for your movement and tracking the enemy is the crucial thing. You can accommodate that in multiple ways - obviously you say to consider reducing mouse movement in this video. But you could do other things - you could do a CS-style counter-strafe style of flicking where you stop momentarily to do a flick shot. This wouldn't work for a Wingman, but for a slower firing weapon could work. You can work on your movement compensation in aim trainers really well with the "Dodge" scenarios in Kovaaks, and you can specifically train for mirror strafing or anti-mirror strafing. And in Kovaaks you can find movement flicking scenarios where the enemies take multiple hits, thereby training exactly the style of aiming for Wingman battles. I personally have difficulty (like I think a lot of people do) with smoothly tracking an enemy while clicking on them. It's so easy to momentarily slow your tracking speed when you click and miss behind the enemy, or to overcompensate for that and miss ahead of them. This is why I think so many people micro flick. But I'd never thought to simply practice that intentionally. Thanks for the video.
@MommysGoodPuppy Жыл бұрын
never thought of trying this, i just learned to flickshot as a reaction but it makes way more sense to have a little more time to observe
@dooderman8361 Жыл бұрын
This makes so much sense, it’s such a simple idea but it’s just counter intuitive when you’re not actively thinking about it, like the intuitive idea would be to keep your crosshairs on the target as much as possible, but with guns that aren’t firing fast there’s no reason for that
@Log_Pile Жыл бұрын
I dove in with this technique in Apex Mixtape after spending 5 mins in an aim trainer and noticed huge gains in consistency. It feels completely unnatural to me not to track with single fire weapons but I can't deny it's very effective - I'll be burning this is to my muscle memory over the next few weeks. Great advice 👍

I play a shooter where the gameplay and meta weapon leads to it being heavily in favour of tracking and I have totally noticed when I am wiffing shots in 1v1s it is sometimes easier to stop and reset, before shooting again to finish a target, rather than getting caught in the tracking. I think it also helps from a mental perspective, if you miss a flick, thats okay, use cover and have another flick. But its deer in the headlights when you start missing everything in a 1v1 with a strafing target and its hard to fix. I think I should try and do it more often and maybe I can find advangtages from running things like shotguns that suit this aim style and get better at.

When i first started playing fps on pc, ofc my first game had to be csgo. And when you take cs seriously, one of the first things you do is download aimmaps. These maps are almost as old as csgo itself and they have a large variety of modes, one of them is flickshot, in aimlab there is the alternative called Spidershot. (If you played these maps/modes, you probably know what i mean, but if not here is a brief description: It is a targetwall with a middlepoint, across that middle point are 4 lines in a shape of a "*" 1 vertical, 1 horizontal for 90° flicks and 2 diagonal both for 45° flicks. All of these axis have "distance points" that are proportionally set apart from the middle point and spread radialy. So every distance gets a circle aswell for the whole 360° flicks. It is great visual help for flicking straight and not in a parabel) The routine of this mode is simple (csgo): 1 - you choose which axis/ how many many degrees you want to flick (can be locked to certain axis or be random across the whole wall). 2 - maxim distance / locked to distance points or random across the plane. 3 - target size 4 - you shoot the middle and a target appears somewhere around the middle, you flick the target and flick back to the middle as fast and accurate as possible. (the "rebound") But you can just deadstop, it's up to you how to train. If you struggle with vertical flicks, set y axis only. Struggle with large distance flicks? - Set the biggest distance only. Struggle with small flicks? - Set small distance only with radial target spread. This is not really a new technique, but very underused. Many people either just play and never train or train but focus on the overall mechanics: spray, shooting bots, playing deathmatch - done. And with the recent aimtrainers the most popular modes are probably Gridshot and "aimbotz-style" target practices. I like how you point this specific technique out, it is definetely very powerfull, especially for powerfull singleshot weapons like snipers and shotguns. And spidershot is a very good tool to get the right foundation for the right flicks. Since you are forced to shoot a specific target in a specific angle with a random distance, it just pushes you out of the comfort zone of flicking. Unlike gridshot where you take the most familiar flick-path and choose targets that are easier to hit.

Well since i'm very into fps gaming.. i do agree. If u are accurate with flicks and u have good flick accuracy its better than tracing with (snipers at least or any sngle fire gun ) even if its small flicks its good to do flicks.. I always thought that and i've been using it quite a lot.. the reason is flicks happen withint half a second (at most) which is not enough for a player/ model ing to move further from it. It takes a lot of practise, i mostly used to be using that when i was playing the old mw2 (2009) up to 2013 :) but i dont think "stationary" aim before flick is good tho. its better to do constant small flicks imo
@boblawblaw6185 Жыл бұрын
ironically I actually started doing this when I watched COD controller players and possibly cronus cheaters doing this with the Kar 98 during warzone 1's actual life cycle, specifically on rebirth. hence why i think a lot of people doing it back then on controller were cheaters. That map ended up being the only map suspected cheaters could queue for without getting a shadowban timer and interestingly enough its modeled after alcatraz island, a real life US prison. I found that method to be more efficient on MnK as someone who likes to quick scope( but misses the initial zoom-in a lot using the white dot) rather than trying to micromanage tracking through using the hold breath at the proper time, aim sway, and opponents with high alert who instantly slide cancel, or dive the moment your crosshair gets near them with a hard scope at really long distances. Glad to see there are other people noticing this style of aiming that may or may not have actually come from imitating a cheat lol and glad to see some videos discussing this method. now I can try and get better and actually understand what I'm doing instead relying on it kind of like a random spasm.
