@@JohnHughes-f1f it is a complicated and big topic and depends on your preference of what do you want to do on the water. it is better to rent some gear first and find out what suits you better and what do you have in access at local shops. i've started with duotone rebels (then sls) for jumps and hang time tricks, now am switching to north orbits (8, 9 m) to progress with loops and stronger winds. you can have orbits from 2022/23 in smaller sizes and reach in bigger. or you can buy used in good condition, but somebody should help you.

The audio of the gopro is really detrimental to the vlogging aspect. On the water it's great because the audio is not the main purpose but man as soon as you talk the levels are all over the place.
