I think katana is always the better form to actually autoattack in. It has higher dps at all stages of the game as far as I'm concerned with the testing I did, but you wanna use some Sai spells, namely the Falcon Rush (Q). It's probably best to use that and whatever spells you need in that form, then switch back to Katana, since the BAT reduction from it seems to synergize with the Katana better. Also, the Katana W is insane and manta illusions apply so much DOT.

Laning stage with katana is absurd btw, around 70dmg without much item Maxing skill 2 is also shit I think. Not even 300dmg nuke with very short silence and long CD, plus hero mana pool cannot sustain the spamming nuke anyway. Maxing 1 or 3 can kill a hero after 6. He rarely use parry too which is very powerful.

maybe not maxing but 2 point for sustain as the grapling goes from 50 to 100 flat lifesteal with 3 sec less cd its really good on hard/poke lane

pressing sai 1 and switching to katana lvl 2 with passive pretty much guarantees a kill on a hero without disable or escape. And even then, they'll leave with 20% hp

No Qojqva the combo is Katana W -> swap -> Sai Q before W connects -> Katana Q. Preferably finished with a katana E if you have shard.

Sumiya also killin with this hero. He literally rush Agh 1st to become mobile as soon as possible. Quite different playstyle from other streamer playing Kez, its actually statisfying watching him play with this hero

falcon rush from dagger form then swap to katana and use grapple when falcon rush stops. This is best combo for early in my opinion.

Here's how I'm playing it: katana early on, get rain drops, first item echo sabre for mana sustain, then S&Y, works great to amp the regen. Next item is BKB, then u play sai. Last itens are up to you, nullifier and butter are great choices. Manta + difusal is nice as well, but I'd pair it with falcon blade.

I didn’t look at anybody else’s opinions before playing him. I did a demo and then made a guide. What you said is exactly what I had on my guide plus orb of corrosion. And played him as an off laner. Absolutely dominated the game after a lost lane.(partner was treant aka no stun) The hero needs movespeed, attack speed and move slows. EVERYTHING else is built into his kit somewhere. And scales off of attack speed.

You could have countered the TB's Q by using your Sai E to parry the hits. It doesn't hit the illusion back, but prevents 100% of the damage.

Just can't believe that you are playing a hero and you don't even try other spells. Probably the fastest farming hero in the game. I am 500 mmr, played an hour ago and was 10k above mid Alch in my lane. 5his hero just cleans waves and has great chasing potential. Please revisit Demo for Kez!
