I'm going to agree with the fact that I definitely believe that it's you're stroke that's very powerful, you have a great solid follow through and I believe that has more effect on power draw and power follow shots than low deflection shafts.
@TheBilliardCorner4 жыл бұрын
No equipment will replace technique and skill. However, I do believe some cues/shafts has been engineered to allow for greater energy transfer. In my opinion, this new Lambros shaft feels very easy to execute power shots while offering great feel, feedback and low deflection.

Hey man I've been wanting to ask your opinion... What do you think is the shaft with the best hit/feel AND is quite stiff - I can't stand for a shaft to be whippy at all. So between carbon fiber AND wood (this lambros, Hsuami 1.0/2.0 etc) which shaft gets your top pick for that criteria?
@TheBilliardCorner Жыл бұрын
That’s a difficult question. The best hit and feel comes from wood shafts. The carbon fiber shafts are stiffer. It would be a toss up between the Lambros, hsunami 2.0 and Becue Prime M
@Blessed.2.Teach.4God Жыл бұрын
@@TheBilliardCorner Yeah I know I mixed 2 strong-suits there... Wood favors hit, CF favors stiffness, but that's why I was asking you cuz you get alot of hands on time with these cues. Anyways I appreciate your help. I know it can be difficult sometimes to describe how things 'feel' but if it's not too much trouble would you be able to articulate the difference(s) between Hsu 1.0, 2.0, and the lambros - is the 2.0 actually a change/improvement from 1.0? ★Thank you again my friend.

Hi! I loved the sound of the cue and the apparent minimal vibration of the cue. Per your test seems to be very low Deflection. I checked their website but there a statement about not taking any more orders due to a big back log. Can you please tell me what's the price range for the cue you tested?
@TheBilliardCorner3 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure on current pricing as the LD Lambros shaft was a prototype that was sent out for me to test. Best to contact Mike on pricing.
@joeygonzo4 жыл бұрын
The secret is a hole at the tip end to make it lightweight . But from the vibration test, it does not appear to be low end-mass. Low deflection shafts actually have high deflection at the front ( so that the cue ball will deflect less off the tip ). This might just have a very light ferrule/pad. It is just a reduced-deflection shaft. Not really a low-def.
@TheBilliardCorner4 жыл бұрын
I have to disagree with you. I have talked to Mike Lambros personally on the phone. Mike integrated his own technology and it's not simply just a hole at the tip. The deflection was very low during the test. I would 100% classify this shaft as low deflection.
@joeygonzo3 жыл бұрын
@@TheBilliardCorner Unless you a scientific test, it's all opinion and taste. A bored out end will have lower deflection than any shaft that does not have bored hole at the end ( some 5 inches ). That one is just lower deflection compared to shafts with heavy ferrules.
@Blessed.2.Teach.4God2 жыл бұрын
@@joeygonzo Light ferrules & low front end mass are pretty standard these days, so I doubt he's hyped up over that... Mike's tech is obviously something different & outside the box.

@TheBilliardCorner3 жыл бұрын
Standard pool balls made by Aramith (unsure on diameter). Diameter of ferrule I recommend depends on the game. Generally for pool, 13mm is what I recommend people start out with. Yes, there is a relationship to these depending on the game played. Snooker has smaller balls and uses snooker cues which is very thin in ferrule size.

@TheBilliardCorner2 жыл бұрын
High quality wood shafts aren’t cheap. Players I’ve seen that uses a non LD wood shaft are: Alex Pagulayan uses an Ariel Carmeli, Rodney Morris was shooting with a Showman, the KO brothers used Southwest cues (now Zen cues cause sponsorship), Oscar Dominguez used a Prewitt, Earl uses a Guylassey, Kenichi Uchigaki used a Lambros. Generally from what I’ve seen, Pros don’t use “cheap” low quality equipment unless they are sponsored by the company.

Looks like a high-quality LD shaft to me. I'm not sure about the claim that the makers of carbon fiber shafts are trying to imitate the maple shafts, however.
@TheBilliardCorner4 жыл бұрын
Back in the day, carbon fiber shafts had a very high pitch "tinky" hit that was not pleasant. The shaft would not be smooth due to placing a clear coat over the carbon fiber weave. Many were also made with graphite. Those shafts played absolutely terrible in my opinion. Technology and innovation has since improved. It would be desirable for companies to make carbon fiber shafts imitate wooden shafts for an easier transition for players. Not only that, Carbon fiber has inherent properties such as stiffness that can be even better than a wood shaft. If you look at Pechauer's website for the Rogue it even says "With our special Noise-Dampening Core, the Pechauer Rogue has the sound and feel of a traditional wooden shaft without the metallic tone carbon fiber shafts are known for." So yes, I do believe they are trying to imitate maple shafts. pechauer.com/rogue-technology/
@BladeRunner-td8be4 жыл бұрын
@@TheBilliardCorner All very good points and you might be right. In my opinion the motivation for creating carbon fiber shafts comes into play here. Why create something different without the motivation to make it better than the old. I do think you have a strong case with your point about the sound of the old carbon fiber shafts being less than desirable. Players like myself want the sound of a wooden shaft or at least close to it but it's not a deal breaker for me to play with a shaft that makes a different sound. You also mention that they want to imitate the feel of wooden shaft. I think the goal is to make a carbon fiber shaft that plays better than a wooden shaft. If better results are created with a different feel and for that matter tone of the hit, this is the goal. Players just want better equipment so they can play at higher levels regardless of the externalities. Who wouldn't play with a shaft that had a weird feel and tone if it increased their playing ability by 5, 10, or more percent. Anyway, every person has an opinion. The trick, at least for me is to always remain open to changing my opinion when enough evidence is shown. Cheers, John Noe

Dude……stop it with what you can’t do with a carbon fiber shaft…… the only reason you sand wood shafts, is because of dirt ,dirt and more dirt. After all that sanding, it starts to thin down and lose consistency of the wood. That would never ever happen to a carbon shaft. You buy the shaft that fits your style anyway…….. 1 carbon fiber- stays the same shape 4ever….. unless you do something stupid to it……. Excuse me for any typos……lol
