That was a weird army losses, considering Bobulous would probably solo the rest of the army on leadership alone

I don't think that was army losses. I'm pretty sure it actually happened because he pulled out of melee trying to cycle charge, so the +leadership for "winning" was lost + he faced the enemy in the rear penalty and was exhausted and low HP, so he routed. 1 or 2 more swings would have routed the unit he was fighting, potentially swinging things the other way.

Id like to see what would have happened if you left him in melee, i think the cycle charge you tried broke him. but Bobulous is a absolute unit. cool to see.

Real question is does this outperform the standard double Exalted Hero that Nurgle/WoC run as a goonsquad before Thrones of Decay? Cuz I just don't see it. They're comparable fighters, you can field two of them and take your sorcerer lord option instead. Hell the Sorcerer Lord also gets the Rot Beast mount, that gives you three solid fighter characters.

rot beast for sorcerer lord of nurgle is bugged, it counts as a hero for some reason so you can only bring 1 exalted hero, not 2 if your bring the sorcerer lord of nurgle on rot beast. very annoying that this happened cause i was looking forward to this

I wonder how the Nurgle Chaos Lord on the Rot Beast compares to when he's on horseback? Are there distinct pros and cons to each one or is the Rot Beast just outright better but more costly?

Considering it swaps his AP ratio I'd suspect the upgrade is always worth it. Look at the Khorne Characters horse versus Juggernaut mount for an idea of the damage gain, then remember Rot Beasts both gain speed over the horse (and maybe regen if it's a bug and not a balance choice from CA).

They should give some army ability points for units dying still, that wouod buff it up to par I think

Sad to see Nurgles performance after a DLC/Patch they are one of the main factions in. Flavor wise the units are great on MP though; whatever channel I watch I hear "decent", "okay" and "solid" and they are either straight up losing or struggling against weaker factions/very weird/experimental builds. Don't make them OP with such a patch, but please a bit more than the "decent" faction that no one will ever choose if they actually wanna play competitive.

Maybe they just need to be even more tanky across the board, or have a very weak mortis engine effect while in combat on all or most of the units.

@@baconsoup8346 Nurgle performs fine if they get a melee engagement. Their worst enemy was and still is missile kite. The DLC gives them mass and anti-large which they really needed, but they could've used a buff on rot fly units or a new missile unit.

The additions to nurgle are good but it didnt solve their problems. They have more anti large but its expensive and limited. Any other faction has far more tools.

Every replay shows what nurgle need some buffs. If you understand game mechanics every factions good in some specific things. Vampires for example looks like nurgle in mechanics slow, regerating melle focus faction but they have cheap regeneration from magic, good flaying monsters, even vargulf is pretty good because of fast attack animation and small size. Vampires struggle with antilarge options and in 3 chapter need some buffs. But they are good melle focused factions with good magic. Even of nurgle not so effective like vampires magic. I simple dont understand in which specific things nurgle are good. They base melle infantry cant beat spears of wood elves, magic too expensive and dont ressurect dead models, good units very expensive and strugles against range units and pretty slow. Even lords of nurgle not even so good like vampire lords. New lord of nurgle are good but i stiil think vampire lords are better. Give some love to nurgle. He definitely need some buffs

They have massive HP pools and powerful debuffs to the enemy. Almost universal physical resistance from daemonic attribute, and melee that rewards keeping enemy in melee longer rather than charging and shocking.

@@madlarkin8 dude every demon have demonic attribute, physical res. is a joke now because many units have magic attack. What rewards they have from keep enemies in battle? Do they so many units which have mortis engine effect like vampires? No thats not true

​@madlarkin8 Be careful engaging with this guy. He likes to constantly complain. He was literally doing the same thing on a comment I left that had nothing to do with MP, but he wanted to point out that Nurgle didn't have it's own Thunderbarge or Landship that was OP.

@@paulverhoven3549 their entire army has swarm of flies effect and poison which gives bonus to melee defence and debuffs enemy attack damage simultaneously; robbing the enemy of large amounts of melee hitting power.

Nurgle will always be terrible in multiplayer. A faction with low kill potential and whose main theme is durability, endurance and regeneration? That's nothing more than a meatshield.
