jack, if you havent already, u should check out amalox variation of the fetelix/lix jump, its an improved way of doing it i got one clip of me accidentally doing it if u wanna see, its alot faster and more controlled

Hahaha, cool to see pros are practising this now as well. Definitely recommend to learn it with the ball instead of without the ball. The last one you got was pretty good, just lacking the air roll for readjustment! It's an awkward mechanic at first that just needs to click with you. For me it's very natural now and a no brainer to go for every time. Good luck with the grind! Edit: one more thing I noticed is that you seem to hold your stick to the left as you're going up the wall. You want to hold it straight up then flick it to the left last second to do the side flip. That's also why your nose is pointing down whenever you do get it

I really like watching Jack in freeplay. I remember on stream he had the speed down to like 60 percent and the music was just vibing. He was in the zone freestyling. I'd really like to see more of it, maybe just some real talk as well. Its a whole feeling

The 2nd shot you made with that mechanic was called the amalix reset, which is a much more refined version of the lix reset. I really recommend you try to learn the amalix reset, if done enough even when you don’t get it you can turn it into a normal air dribble if you mess up, I hope you see this

I’ve been practicing this for a looooong time, ever since it came out, one of the best tips I can give you is hold up on your steer stick whilst going up the wall and until you flip, it helped me get more consistent

I think i know the mechanic you are practicing. I saw someone use powerslide and directional air roll. They also did the first jump on the black line before the rocket league logo on the wall.

I've accidentally done this mechanic several times over my 3k+ hours in game, but without the second jump/flip. I believe it's a combo of jumping right as your car clears the curve of the wall, but you still have that slight momentum in the horizontal direction towards the wall (while driving upwards) and hitting the ball right around the same time, in a super tight window. It happens so rarely that I've never bothered to recreate it intentionally, but it's cool to see people are able to do it on purpose, and with variation. I will say though, the way I've done it (accidentally) is significantly more useful than what Jack is demonstrating, since his version kinda scuffs his movement capabilities due to the flip, whereas my version is practically the same as a typical air dribble set up.

I’ve seen the Fetelix jump once ingame, but it’s not new. Pro just didn’t find any use to it till now. But tbh it’s not that hard to defend as the very high level players will hear you doublejumped, and they will act like if you’ve had a reset. It’s very interesting but not game changing.

Can you even tell if the opponent has gotten the "Reset" or extra dodge similar to I guess you knowing when someone had a dodge reserved if its a ceiling shot or flip reset? If its completely masked/unnoticeable and you are not able to tell then this will surely become the next meta? Especially in ones

What is the mechanic? To me it looks like just a flip off the wall which looks more for a freestyle player then a 2s or 1s player, otherwise what's the difference in carrying off the wall with a flip vs a normal carry I don't see an advantage or am I missing something?

Are you going to try to learn Amalox's version? Its much faster of a recovery and has less risk than the normal Lix. Its a reasonable jump in skill for those trade offs though.

At how many fps do you play? I think it'll be easier on higher fps (plus higher refresh monitor). Not sure if anyway can play at 480 fps stable online for example. Edit: I see 360 fps now. This mechanic seems highly timing dependent, so reducing input lag as much as possible will increase consistency.

Been practicing this mechanic. Not sure how consistent someone can get with it.. the physics are a bit finicky. I still think it’s competitively viable. If you mess up your just air dribbling.

I think the use case will be very niche as the setup overall seems to be very boost reliant depending on the touch you get once you go off the wall. Often times there is a lot of correction that needs to be done mitdair, going for a flip reset seems more boost efficient for now at least.

I think this mechanic can really go somewhere. I started learning after this video as I remembered when it was popular 2 years ago and right now I am c1 and just after putting in around 1 hour split over 2 days I managed to do the mechanic. I’m very inconsistent with it as i can only do it about 1/20 attempts but I’m progressing relatively fast. If I can get it down then so can you.

practicing mechs is one of the most addictive things in the game. you just get so desperate to hit the shot you want that you cant get off till you see it, then once u get it, u want more. I remember wen I was d3 I sat in freeplay for 6 hours straight till I hit a double reset, I couldnt feel my fingers 😂

I've put maybe about 50 hours into this mechanic, and have gotten my success rate to about a 1/4. I so badly want this mechanic to be in the game but I don't know at this point... I've definitely gotten it down to muscle memory at this point but it's so precise that I feel myself messing up frequently still in bad ways (flipping off the wall). I still have yet to score this in a match too, but I have gotten the reset even in 3s (but bad recovery)

Pretty sure this mechanic was discovered like 1-2 years ago by a freestyler. Could be useful to counter early ceilling challenges, shoot it at the ceilling and double tap it on net.

Nobody really mastered it yet ( a few freestylers did ) I spent a good 20-30 hours in freeplay back then just trying to wrap my head around the timing.. got the flip maybe 4-5 times.. never with control of the ball though

I remember I used to watch flip resets in freestyle videos and thinking thats cool, but it wont be competitive, then I saw squishy score it in a high ranked lobby and still thought it wouldn't be consistent enough to see in rlcs often.... How wrong I was. I imagine the lix jump is the same. Right now its inconsistent, slow and pushes the ball too far away, but in the near future people are going to be doing it off the wall all the time
