Well it has a reason to why it's like that since moon is the only one breathing that really gives damage against enemies in the demon slayer verse (Beside dark thunder Breathing), other breathings are only visuals they don't do shit on enemies it just identifies their swordsmanship, and how they breath.

The move is pretty canon yo the manga SPOILER WARNING TO THE PEOPLE THAT NEVER READ THE MANGA: The moon breathing new move of moon breathing in demonfall is actually the final move or 16th form of moon breathing name moon bow: half moon is when kokushibo extend his sword to a very large sword and slashes down creating a big explosion damage everyone from a far distance and summon a bunch of crescents moon blades at the same time. Bonus: The new sun breathing move in demonfall is also canon which is the 9th form dragon sun halo head dance is when the user summon a large japanese fire dragon from their sword that is capable of destroying multiple enemies(demons). Note: also this is just visual effects it doesnt burn demons or anything else but it makes them feels the most pain out of all the breathing styles also kokushibo moon breathing is not visual effects cuz hes a demon/human hybrid and he uses his blood demon art to infuse with his breathing style to buff it so he can summon a bunch of crescents moon blades everytime he uses a moon breathing moves.
