I think it does a bit more than some people are suggesting. Luke Cage won't end up on the board in about a third of the games, and at that point it's a 3-4 point nerf. The main thing though, is that a lot of people stop playing a card when it gets nerfed (even if it's relatively minor).

I would start by removing the text from the cards she brings for no more Hela / Tribunal shinanigans, and somewhat future proof the card. Then make Hela fill the spaces left to right so user have to keep track

For a user who uses hela even before hellcow buff, its hard to use the deck since i dont have luke cage and red hulk. Most of my respawns are 9 power like magneto and hulk. I know a lot of people have luke cage but i dont think a lot of people have red hulk or bigger power cards, so its not that easy to win. Also, hela likes to respawn to weird locations like trying to intentionally lose lol. I think someone mentioned hela winrate is average on the meta

I think that takes away half the card's power - it would stop Ebony Maw too. And encourages an even more lockdown style play, which is bad for the game if it becomes meta. That said, I don't own the card...

@@bighamster2 I disagree entirely, the game has a vast number of locations that War Machine already opens up the cards potential for, the current text of the card enabling play of cards that are supposed to be challenging to play for their reward is ridiculous paired with its location ability. It's strong enough being able to storm, legion, war machine without being able to play things like infanatut turn 6 or crossbones in zones they where previously losing. And there's almost no counter play to these war machines as normally by the war machine play they don't have priority as such you can't even enchantress or rogue the warmachine(unless you're in conquest and plan that exact move)...he needs a nerf.

If warmachine doesn't work with ebony maw, crossbones, cull obsidian, goose, jean grey, or infinaut, then the ONLY way you could even THINK about playing him is with storm and legion. No interesting deckbuilding questions, he is generally a horrendously bad card unless you draw the combo to lock the opponent out of the game. I think they should do the opposite-- make legion reset flooded location. With that combo dead, we can see if WM is even worth splashing into decks.

Had a very interesting game, played someone using blink, electro, lots of power 10s with war machine, nebula and ebony maw. War machine counteracts electro which I did not even consider this a deck prior. Also had Shang chi, thought its a new flavor for a video possibly. I’ve not seen one posted on this but mimicking it now and works well

I think the slow roll out of Activate makes sense. It's a new mechanic, so they need to let it bake a bit. They need to see what kinds of things it breaks that they weren't expecting. Also the little things like the wording making the interaction with Brood unclear. They will now be more careful on wording of future activate cards. And I wouldn't say that Hell Cow is busted, but I don't think they had intended Hella Cow combo to be so strong.

Let’s be real is this making hela that much worse? It’s getting to a point where they need to just put a cap on the # of cards resurrections. Hela was meta just a couple months back and now where in the same exact place, and guess what when hela stocks are up the other annoying decks go up. I’m at rank 2000 on LB and 90% of my games are either Hela or junk in response to hela.

@@apricot8301 I understand that I also watched the video, and yes any gambling deck is going to have a mediocre win percentage, but look at a deck like clog it’s win percentage is also mediocre and is easily the worst feeling deck to play against, at a certain point it becomes less about win percentage and more about this is too toxic. And now hela runs luke cage so negative power means nothing, and quite honestly I’m not even sure if 3 power is enough to lose even without Luke cage.

All they have to do with Hela is make her bring back up 3 cards maximum. Meaning if you are just Hellcowing every game there's a risk you bring back cards like Sif and blade instead of the big cards you wanted. You would have to make more decisions to manipulate the outcome.

Gotta be the dumbest OTA ever, the buffs they are giving to move kinda feel forced, and they keep buffing every card that interacts with Symbiote Spiderman. Most of these cards are fundamentally badly designed, +1 and -1 won't help them. Symbiote Galactus is the most telegraphed line in the game, Hercules's only problem is when mirror matchup gets prio and uses his trigger, Kraven's problem is the fact that he doesn't gain power from the cards moved on the turn he is played anymore, Hela's problem cannot be solved with power, the card needs a mini rework... Black Panther doesn't have a power problem, it's just a consistency problem, but it shouldn't be too consistent anyways...

You still have to draw Luke Cage with your Hela AND several good discards and even then you still don’t beat a well-placed Cosmo/Alioth, get screwed by Leech, and just flat out lose to several other huge point-producing decks in the game. Hela’s brain-dead annoying cheese but overall she’s fine. She does what she does and telegraphs it a mile away, so either easy retreat or snap and skunk.

I’d really love to see a couple cards get Activate - Crystal could benefit by letting you choose when you need the draw, Scarlet Witch would be nice to choose to turn off a location or not, Bast to choose when you 3 your hand, Selene to let you target a bit better, and Gambit, also to let you use it at more opportune times. Feel like there’s a lot of potential here to improve a lot of really bad cards that isn’t being taken at all. Also Zabu, but they’ve claimed to have tested and been unhappy with it :/

The hela nerf is a nerf, it is way easier to counter luke cage than hela. So increasing the hela negative effective allows you to just use tech to deal with luke cage to beat hela decks

I feel like the change to hella is saying “you need a 3 card combo”. Before whatever you couple play plus hell cow hella by 6 was a solid win chance. Now it’s a little more questionable if you can’t play cow and cage by 5. Seems like a consistency nerf to slightly hurt her overall but in now way kill it. Hela herself isn't the problem, it's how easy it is now to discard cards with Hell Cow for that combo. Especially when Luke Cage is part of that deck anyway. You could make Hell Cow "discard the highest and lowest cost card in hand" - yes one of those cards could likely be Luke Cage, but at least it's not discarding two big boys.
