Hello! .22 Long Rifle is not suitable in this case, because they are rimmed cartridges, greatly limiting the maximum capacity. The reason you do not typically see double-stack .22 LR magazines is because of a phenomenon called rim-lock, which will cause jamming and malfunctions - this is when the rim of a cartridge rides on the rim of another, preventing it from being loaded into the chamber. This is why typically, .22 LR pistols tend to have a capacity of around 10 rounds, in a single stack. You may see a little more, or a little less, depending on the model, but they're virtually all single-stack for this reason. For competition, you want the highest possible capacity you can fit in a magazine, in order to have to reload the least possible. But you also want your firearms to be as reliable as possible, so that you don't waste time clearing jams and malfunctions (which is part of the reason why drum magazines are out of question as well). Matt stated that in his specific discipline, he is limited to 20 rounds in his pistol magazines, therefore he is using a 20-round magazine; but as you surely know, there are even greater capacities available! That is my favorite target. I like to shoot top, left, right, left, right, and then get what is left if needed. I know others like to shoot the lower one and let them come to them. With my method, it doesn't move as much and what is left is at the bottom. The big paddle spinner that sits 4-5 feet tall, which you have to alternate hitting top and bottom, with a pistol, to flip it over, is a challenge as well. I shoot 40 cal and used some heavy bullets for that stage in the local match. Normally I run a light 160 grain that feels like the recoil of 9mm. Dueling tree man vs. man competitions are nuts. I competed against Mike Dalton one time; one of the guys who started steel challenge. He beat me and I took second that year. The next year, I beat him, but neither of us was near the top out of the entire group.

I'm a person who expects our legislature to enact more responsible gun restrictions. I have quite a lot of experience with guns. I think KZbin banning some forms of gun videos is stupid. People are well within their right to be scared of guns. No matter how educated you are on gun culture, that won't shield you from a bullet that someone else shoots at you. And fuck, no one is wanting to take guns away. They just want better regulations and more accountability for gun show and private sales.

Which regulations would you like to see? You don't get to shill for "common sense" regulation then not state what you consider common sense (bit of a vague term). No, it won't shield you from bullets, but you can't control the actions of others through law or regulation. I know it's been beat to death, but laws only affect those that obey them. Someone intent on murder doesn't care. Gun shows have plenty of accountability, dealers still have to run background checks whether at a show or in a brick and mortar store. Private sells are just that, two adults exchanging their private property for money. It's no different than selling a car, I'm not required to make sure that person has a valid drivers license, and would be legally in the clear if I did. However, if I knowingly sold a firearm to a felon, even private sale, I'd be in legal trouble. Once again, seems perfectly reasonable. What's unreasonable is to think anyone selling a good is capable of predicting the intentions of the person purchasing said item. Even more unreasonable to think another law will improve the situation. Gun control IS and always has been about taking guns away. The very roots of gun control are based in keeping firearms out of the hands of the common man. It started with keeping them away from blacks and minorities. Gun control is rooted in irrational fear. If any of the gun control folks actually cared about preserving life they'd focus on the things that kill the most people, and guns don't make that list. Instead they'll focus on a small handful of people murdered while ignoring the mass of people that died of preventable disease or car accidents in the very same day....those they'll accept as inevitabilities of modern life.

I everyday carry a Canik tp9sa, planning to get the elite (a touch smaller, but essentially the same gun) shortly. It’s a great gun to shoot, only had one holdup in 1000 rounds (in the second mag through it) and no issues since. I love it and is a great gun for the cost (especially for a college kid)

Yeah, man, if I owned a 3k gun then I would be afraid to even shoot the damn thing. I wouldn't even want people looking at it. But a Glock on the other hand, you can treat it like shit and it'll still work, and it's only around 5-550ish. There's a point where something can be good enough for the price point, and that's where Glock steps in. But, yeah, best believe if I was rich I'd have me one of these 2011s haha.

Hallam Steer Gun competitions in the UK are not illegal! Calibre for semi auto and barrel length on pistols is however the drawback. 3Gun competitions are alive in the UK both in Real Steel and Airsoft which many use to aid training.

Yup British competition pistols are almost carbines they are seriously weird. But you are perfectly able to get licensed and buy your guns kinda like Canada but way more strict. I believe you have a limited number and kinda have to apply for each different gun and other dumb paperwork. Strangely replica guns in the UK are cool but in Canada you can get serious prison sentences and/or lose a legitimate firearms license if you possess one, (the offence is greater if you are licensed although it’s technically not but in reality it is).
