yep, pretty much. With some PS1 its great if thats all you want. Having expectations in check a simple nice looking handheld that can play those classics very well.

It goes up to PS1 games that don't require the Dual Sense controller. It doesn't handle N64 well at all. It is great for Arcade beat-em ups too.

I have the Miyoo Miini (non-plus model), and I love it. I would love using a bigger model, but if it were bigger I wouldn't carry it around with me. The OG Miyoo Mini is the perfect size for actually being portable. With the case, it is a the size of a Castanza Wallet. If I already didn't have the OG model, I would be very tempted to get this slightly bigger version. Also, this thing works even better when you put the custom Onion OS firmware on it.

Mine should be arriving tomorrow. i dont need it, but ive always wanted one. the best thing about it that i can see is the size of it, it fits in your pocket perfectly. i usually play with anbernic handhelds where the quality is just excellent and have some that are even smaller than the miyoo mini but the button placements on the small anbernic handhelds where abit of a let down and uncomfortable. with the miyoo mini your getting a good small quality product filled with games for nearly every system thats comfortable to play at a cheap price. whats not too love. might do a video on my anbernic RG280V vs THE MIYOO MINI PLUS

I got the gba sp version of miyoo for it being cheap and all I honestly like how it holds up, I've had longer lasting positive results over that vs the ambernic mini gameboy due to ambernic having battery issues with the devices. The miyoo holds up well for what it is.. maybe I'll give them another try because I love the small gameboy versions of these models

I just ordered one with the Onion software all set up with the best games. Cost more, but I am not tech-savvy enough to set it all up myself and I didn't want to brick the console.

There's really nothing tech savvy about copy pasting some folders in the right order, because that's what it boils down to. If you've used Windows, you can flash an OS to a handheld and setup an SD card with roms. But it's your choice and your money. Hope you enjoy your mini.

I just ordered one. Should be here tomorrow. Ordered a 128gb SD card for it too, because I don't trust the cheapo one it comes with. Even then, I'd rather add my own list of games, and not whatever this has on it. Not that the pre-made rom sets are bad on this. It's way better than what some things come with. But, well, I don't need THAT many roms, I don't need multiple regions of the same game, and I don't need all those weird hacks and homebrews that pop up in the NES stuff. I'd rather just buy a new SD card from a good brand, toss OnionOS on it, and toss my own roms on it, and be good to go. Honestly. I can't wait to get it. I already have a Retroid Pocket 2+, but I've never been the biggest fan of emulating on something that can do a ton of other stuff. Like, emulating on a Retroid (which uses Android) ends up feeling more like I'm opening files on an old phone with a controller attachment, as opposed to playing games on a game console. Same reason I always felt off about emulating on a PC. I just don't have the attachment to the games and saves because the device feels more like it's meant to do a ton of stuff, and just happens to also be able to emulate. Meanwhile, the Miyoo runs Linux with an OS specifically made for emulation. It can't do a whole lot outside of maybe play some mp3 files and ftp. It's a game console with a game-based OS, and it plays games. That's all I want. That, and I like that it's a vertical form factor. Gives me that game boy nostalgia.

The RG is cheaper, doesn't have WiFi but it's a bit more powerful (all PS1 games run well), easier to buy, slightly worse (subjective) shoulder buttons, pretty much the same thing. I have mine with MinUI installed and it's awesome, the best OS for it I think.

What I dont like with 35xx are smaller battery, rattling shoulder buttons and the left + right dpad

@@fightnight14 I modded everything. Put thin foil under the shoulder buttons and it stops rattling, tape the Dpad and its accurate and just swap the battery and you got 8h+ with PSX emulation.

Honestly think it’ll be quite a wait until you get something out of China for this kinda price that can do GC and PS2 well. If that’s what you really want, I honestly can’t recommend the Steam Deck enough. Buy the 64GB version, whack in a 512GB micro sd, and you’re sorted.

Your only option is scalpers since the Miyoo Mini Plus sells out in seconds and Miyoo randomly releases shipments which does nothing against bots. Some scalpers sell it for an almost reasonable price now due to the recent sale going on.

Why aren't the proper emulator tied to each game prior? It's cool to have the option but I'd of thought an issue like that would've been taken care of. But I'm not very tech savvy so maybe I'm missing something.

Its just how they organized the roms, not the best way to do it with how they have the OS setup. You can put the sd card in a pc and move them to the proper folder, leave Neo Geo and CPS in Arcade/FBA and mame just in MAME. Or just remember, when you go into Arcade only select the roms in the Neo Geo and CPS folders, MAME everything else and you shouldnt find too many issues id imagine.

Each category has only 1 emulator assigned to it. With Onion OS custom firmware, you can create custom categories that are set to use different emulators. But you'll have to set up all of that manually.

It happens because there is not enough power to keep the system running so it struggles. Some of the Mini Arcade machines, like the Egret Mini the same thing happens if using too low of a power supply compared to what it requires.

I know that you can only speak to the unit that you received, but you really should do a little more research before posting a video speaking to the quality of the device. The overwhelming amount of negative quality control post on the Mini subreddit should be taken as a word of caution for those interested in buying this device. A few common problems that are routinely mentioned. - stuck buttons - screen adhesive coming off - device not turning on -speaker issues - broken or stuck switches - (not a defect but ... Very easy to break screen if you drop it so much as 2-3 feet onto a carpeted floor).
